malicious WIfi is the most probably the reason you dont have anything now. It is so bad and i am so sorry for that, unfortunately there is no way how to get coins back Sad

But I don't get it, where is your private keys stored. I was told that if one is using hard ware wallet that the private keys do not leave the hard wallet.

For me with that huge portfolio you should ahve bought one hard ware wallet at least

use trezor/ledger nano s or KeepKey, safest and the only way how I store my coins...

Anyone think this thread may be a lie?

Honestly who stores 550k worth of coin in an insecure location? If you got that cash, surely you would have invested in very secure cold storage.

Looks like a hardware wallet manufacturer is spreading a FUD, to remind people to buy their wallets

My purses all two-factor authentication. If someone tried to login my account I would receive a text. That's why I think online wallets are more secure. Last week I received an SMS that someone tried to login to my account on CEX. But they didn't work.
And what if the domain itself gets hacked, the sever gets corrupted for some reason or a ddos attack takes place? In that case you you've (temporarily) lost your assets and there's nothing you can do about it. If you're storing half a million dollars worth of crypto at least take some precautions.

Make the disaster you experience as an experience, later you do not connect your smartphone or laptop to other peoples wifi .. if you have important data on your smartphone and laptop goods.

always keep your crypto in cold storage. I never keep more than 10% on exchanges. It's simply too risky with the huge potential in crypto.

PM if you want great tips on storing in cold storage which is vanity proof!

The point in such a thread would be to scare people about the security of their funds.

I mean from the perspective of a hardware wallet manufacturer, you want people to be afraid about the security of their coins.

This way they will buy a your product - the super secure hardware wallet that will guarantee peace of mind and security.

still dont understand, why ppl using their mobile for wallets connecting to foreign wifi  Roll Eyes Huh

only 1 wallet on 1 PC with AV+antikeylogger

I haven't heard of "antikeylogger" before. More accurately, I always just kind of assumed that antikeylogger would be a feature included in any typical AV. Is there some service or software you recommend?

On a related note, the thing I always worry about (well one of the many things) is someone getting a dump of my clipboard history. I cut & paste addresses, passwords, and the like often enough that my clipboard history alone would be a valuable tool to use against me...

I think it is a lie thread.

What I'm wondering is, how do I protect myself when using wi-fi that isn't my own if I'm forced to use it?

I'm not using public wi-fi, but currently as a student, I'm using my landlords wi-fi (not in my apartment), I don't want to pay my own internet (expensive).

What are the measures I should take?

I mean, it's not like I don't trust my landlord, but I seriously doubt his security since his wi-fi password is 123456789  Cheesy

Looking for a signature campaign.
