The rumours of over 40mh of ETH on Vega is possibly correct.   With just a plain sequence of use of the normal drivers you should be able to get high 30's for less then 140 watts I think, so its feasible to improve 10% or more on both those figures if twiddling all the dials Cheesy

I still dont think its better then the Polaris cards, what appears to be the replacement for those cards is probably going to be an improvement and that will be a smaller cheaper vega model.  If that comes with hbm2 and similar memory speed then its fairly certain.  I believe thats spring 2018 release?

I get the following per card with the blockchain drivers, stock bios.
  • 37MH/s with Claymore mining ETH on Vega 56
  • 1800H/s with XMR-STAK-amd mining monero on Vega 56

23-24 perhaps with a stock BIOS on the 8GB cards with their faster RAM, higher needed modded BIOS with memory timing changes.
I was seeing 21-22 on STOCK bios on my Sapphire RX 470 4GB "reference" type cards despite the slow RAM.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Smiley its fake, actual speed vega 64 1990hs at 140w, vega 56 1890-1920hs 150w

Did you get the wattages reversed? Or is vega 64 actually less wattage and higher xmr hashrate than vega 56?

LOL WUT? RX480 BIOS mod allows for ~30MH/s per card.
