This type of thing could contribute to Bitcoin adoption momentum.

Get a Bitcoin Wallet now (and learn how to use it) for your chance to receive money over the internet, while you sleep.  Watch the money being sent right now at http://blockchain.info/

What's in your wallet?  When was the last time you looked?

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Or [conspiracy theories on] maybe someone was trying to find the owners of different wallets involved in a chain of suspicious transfers/payments to see if they would post a question about it somewhere... did you use Liberty Reserve recently? Smiley

No I've never used liberty reserve.  I believe the only people I ever gave the address to were bitinstant, and casascius.  I don't think it's ever been public.

It does not look very different from some of your other transactions.

https://blockchain.info/address/1ARESQKa1AjMvRPfiBGkrc4981uzu8ecbd

It looks like it could be a resolved bet from [urlhttp://www.bitbet.us]BitBet[/url]. May just ended so they closed out a bunch of bets. This weekend I had a moment of confusion as I wondered where some of the coin I received came from, but the address seems to match this bet:

SatoshiDice will be Taken Down/Seized By the US Government Before June 1st.

No see then they would be sending very specific amounts down to the satoshi e.g. 0.23590128

Ha ha that give me a the tickling of an idea... anonymous telephone directory  Huh send a an amount equal to your phone number to an address. Not sure what you could use it for but maybe a text message lottery  Huh

That was why I was being vague.  I did not want to put it in writing.

Me:

That was in error. It should have gone to my wallet. Please forward it to the address in my sig.

I've made myself a public wallet (sort of by accident in my first post). Not sure what use it's going to be but it seemed a shame to waste it so I've put it in my sig. You could send it some coin and we'll all watch and see where it ends up.  Cool
