Bitcoin credit card

Are there any websites out there that you can create a credit card and use your Bitcoin when you swipe?  So the idea is you take out your card, swipe it and it will register as a mastercard, visa or whatever.  But instead of charging you money it would charge you in BTC or take directly from your wallet?  Obviously the card would have to be backed by a big bank or something.   

TLDR- I am looking to get like a Visa credit card in exchange for Bitcoin

Bitwala is a good service if you wanna have a visa card, you can use it in any store or just for withdrawing money in an atm, only that you have to convert your btc to usd first, and then you can withdraw it in your atm without any problems. I have been using it for some time and it is a good one.. I use wirex visa card too, i have both of them, but bitwala is the best one from them, because it is more faster and their support replies fast.

So question on that, Anytime I want to use the card I have to convert them first?  How long does that actually take in order to transfer?  I want something quick and instant, like I go to a bar/dinner/lunch and I want to pull my card out, have it take Bitcoins out and be done with it.  I don't want to transfer or wait or anything.  Is that even possible?

Not until now I guess. So far your only option is to find one of those services which offer btc debit cards but they don't work as simple as you want them to be.

You need to deposit bitcoins in them first and they're debited as dollars at the current price and they you can use it. And yes you need to wait for confirmations and stuff like that but the balance becomes available later on.
I've used one similar service so far called Advcash but they don't issue real  plastic cards. They give virtual cards. So they send you your name, card number and the cvc. I've used two or three times to buy gift cards online (just for testing though) but I heard that amazon and other sites don't accept them.

True, probably should have reworded it.  I meant they would take from their wallet, and you would have to reimburse them, although then you run into all sorts of other problems I guess....  I just wanted a quick and easy way to get some Zygor Gift Cards without using paypal....I don't think I am going to be able to!

There is a dozen of websites like you are looking for. Basically, you load your account with Bitcoin, it gets converted to $,£ or € following their internal rate, then you transfer the money to your card, it is instant to load your card. If you go to the "service discussion" section you will find several topics about it.

Not credit cards...that's a bit antithesis to what Bitcoin is about. But there are may debit cards.

Some of the debit cards are prepaid, meaning you have to load them with a balance, and others draw off your bitcoin wallet directly.

There are plenty of debit cards that can do this, but it does depend on where you are. Non EU citizens have just been booted out by most card providers. Where are you?

You have to keep the coins with the provider. Most of them convert all of it when you deposit. Of the ones I've messed with Xapo is the only one that keeps it in Bitcoin and converts each individual transaction so you can carry on appreciating the rest.

Sir, are you not familiar with bitcoin exchanges? Most of these debit cards only work through exchanges...so wallets where you don't have any private keys. Bitwala works with Trezor but you do get the protection provide by MasterCard or Visa.

Shift now does the same via Coinbase. Bitwala draws direct from your bitcoin balance too.

I think he mean about prepaid is virtual credit card no physical card that could be use for online transaction, .
I think there are some prepaid cards are not accepted in amazon or other services online due abuse by other users..

They had updated list of debit card and reviews as you can seen there are list like the quarantined one like wirex..
Its not advisable to use as of now and base for customers reviews..

You can also see the upcoming debit cards....  I think if you have physical one what you looking for is to withdraw your bitcoin instantly or just swipe and you paid if you buy something in mall as sample..

I do not agree if bitcoin makes credit cards, so it will make more umit just the process of withdrawal or other porses inside bitcoin. What's more if you have to deal with the bank, there will be taxes every month, and that will be detrimental to us, so be thankful the bitcoin we can still get and without tax.

This is a good point. When dealing with an exchange or a bank, every time you make a purchase it represents a sale of an asset and thus is a taxable event. Now you don't have to calculate or pay those taxes monthly, but you do have to do it yearly. If transactions are made over the blockchain and not via an exchange wallet there is less record keeping of such an event.

I don't think it's a good idea. I wouldn't put a big amount in this kind of websites. If you need to withdraw you coins i advise to send small amounts only when you want to turn your coins to cash.

I have wirex debit card, and this is the best card i have ever had, i used some debit cards in the past, like neteller card, uquid card, payeer, and advcash. But wirex has a very friendly interface, everybody can use it, even a newbie that does not understand how tu use bitcoin , can use that card and load it quickly. Onlike that their fees are a little bit high, but their service is excelent, and they have an ANN thread on this forum where they reply everyday.

What am I not understanding about the OP? He's asking if a card exists to make purchases directly from a bitcoin wallet. The answer is yes. And I'm commenting on your surprise that anyone would allow a 3rd party access to private keys. It happens all the time with anyone using an exchange wallet.

I guess since you convert your BTC to USD already to fund your bitwala card then it works as what debit/credit/atm card do.
So the answer is yes it will transfer instant just what other cards do, except if there's a maintenance with the platform, tho I don't have any experienced of using them but if you applied a simple logic that will goes like that.
