Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

GreatBug -

Are you able to provide any verification that you're the current owner of the shares that you're selling?

Are you able to provide any verification that you're the current owner of the shares that you're selling?

Also, could you give a little info as to how to receive these shares? What information will be needed to transfer ownership, etc?

I would like some verification as well. Assuming you can provide said verification, I'm in for 12 @2.44

Well, I posted a message signed by an address that has been receiving weekly dividends from ASICminer.

Additional verification that I currently own the shares as of this moment could only be provided by friedcat.

I'll post payment addresses for each winner to send payment.  Payment is due within 24 hours of the auction's end.

After payments are finalized, the winners need to provide me an address to which they would like the shares transferred.  This should be an address generated yourself using a client app, and NOT a hosted wallet account.  I will gather these addresses, sign a message detailing that my shares should be transferred to the new addresses, and send that message to friedcat.  friedcat manually processes the transfer, and typically posts into the tread when the transfer is complete.  Dividends are paid weekly on Wednesdays.

I can't accept conditional bids since I don't know what satisfies your condition.

Feel free to resubmit this bid without condition, if you'd like to place it.

Your subsequent posts since that have been good enough for me. I missed the signed message earlier.

I was wondering GreatBug, what you meant by the client app and the hosted wallet account.  Are you talking about using an address in my personal bitcoin wallet,  and not using a hosted address in a bitcoin exchange account?  Sorry for the noobie question, I just want to make sure I understand this correctly.

That is correct.  I recommend using the desktop program Bitcoin-qt to generate a brand new address just for this specific purpose.  Do NOT use an address provided by a third party like the receive addresses from exchanges such as MtGox or coinbase, nor an account created at blockchain.info.  Those are fine services for their purposes, but for this purpose you want a private key that nobody else but you knows.  And back it up.
