Hello friends,

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to BTC. I have sent 0.0093815 BTC with a fee of 0.00031803 from Electrum to my coinbase wallet (txID:ae5dc4d9b73859e0499c4eef5011189b87b617644acdb32770766d3eaac76417). It has been 3 hours and I still have zero confirmations. The coin has showed up on coinbase as "pending". Also, the address of my coinbase wallet is 1ApgcT9Ho6JXwXwj6sfguKuPvb2PxqQHad but on blockchain.info it is showing the output as 157F8ighpvX7bPTLSusBJHfw4RBz6yeAwe. Why is this? Is my fee not sufficient? If anyone could explain what's going on and what to do about my coin it would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time in advance.

Yes, your fee was not sufficient, if you have Electrum, you can select the fee with a slider. Set it higher in the future and you can confirm in 5 blocks or less, many miners compete, and only mine the highest tx fees these days, so you can be in limbo until the Bitcoin masternode comes in and sweeps all the dust transactions  Wink

Your fee is a bit to low but the good news are that it is not too low. Currently the fastest and cheapest transaction fee is 150satoshis/byte so 50satoshi/byte is reasonable.
You have to wait a few more hours, maybe one more day for your transaction to be confirmed. Next time be more careful with the fee. You transaction con get stuck for a few days so it is better to pay a litlle more just to be sure everything will be fine

You fee is too low. But you got lucky Smiley

Next time when you have similar problem, you could submit your tx to some of the free acceleration services from Service section like:

When i have trouble with my transactions i just contact a guy on this forum, and ask him for accelerating my transaction, he only asks me for a little tip after that, but usually transactions take 1 hours max to get the first confirmation after he acelerates them.
Anyway, i try to put high fees to them, but sometimes i forget to put more than $2 to my transactions, and that is what makes them stuck for 4 - 7 hours each.

Good for you, well, be careful next time if you do it again. The transaction fee you have is really too low for transaction via Electrum, I think they have faster ttransactions that really requires also bigger transaction fee that even got up to 0.003 in btc but you can assure that it is really fast. What you have fee is really too slow it could even take up to half a day. So keep it in mind next time.

Before you send some coins, always check the fees recommended in these sites.

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-state-by-fee-level

They are difficult to figure out at first, but its really very easy to understand once you get used to it.

Common mistake made by newbies, they tries to use lower fees but they do not really care or they do not even know what is the effect of using low fees. Especially if the amount that is going to be sent is not bug enough, so they thinks that 'why I should pay high while what I want to send is just small amount".
