Hi All,

Does an individual need to hold at least one BTC before they can get the equivalent BITCOIN CASH or BITCOIN GOLD?

I have about 30% of one BTC would I be eligible for some?

If so, I know gold is not out yet but how would I claim bitcoin cash for the amount I have?

Cheers

There is no matter how much you have. Even 0.000001. You should receive the same amount of bitcoin gold or bitcoin cash (if you had some btc with private key 1st August).

You don't need to own 1 btc to claim BCC even if you own 0.0002btc before the fork, you will claim it, but you must have own it before the fork. In claiming it, there have been several threads on it on the forum depending on the wallet the btc is before the fork. You can use BTC.com for Jazz, Blockchain.info or you can use Coinomi mobile app to claim from Etherum or Bitcoincash depending on the one you find more comfortable. You can use Google to help you out.

Thank you for the replies.

I didn't have any btc before the bitcoin cash fork so I can't get them.

But I have bitcoin now so I can get some bitcoin Gold. How much will bitcoin Gold be valued at when it hits the exchanges?

No one can definitely know how much it will be valued. You just wait until it hits the exchange first and the market will determine. However, you should expect a huge dump immediately it hits the market, no doubt about that. Also, I noticed no one has told you this yet, but if you really want to get the other forked chain, it is best you have your coins in a wallet you have control over your funds. Or find out from any of your centralised wallet, to know their plans regarding the upcoming fork and disbursement to users. I heard some wallets gave their users the chance to have the other forked chain during the BCC August fork.

They are the same supporters, Xapo support BCH , then failed, now Xapo support Btc gold < and will fail. Xapo and friends are the same, they are opportunists, they want to hijack bitcoin community for personal profit. That's bad developers and supporters who take instant way to get rich.

Good Xapo wallet. I use it for a long time and I have no complaints. If the course does not take into account the fact that earlier transactions were free. Now the fee is the same as everywhere else. As for support of Alt bitcoins they honestly warned that they will not support them until December you need to transfer them to another location. It is their right.

I don't think so first bitcoin cash is different from bitcoin gold. But maybe the new bitcoin gold may overtake the price of bitcoin cash. We don't know how to claim bitcoin gold but be ready on it.

The answer is simple, whatever the number of bitcoin is the same amount you will receive for Bitcoin Gold.

For example, if you have 0.001 BTC then you will receive 0.001 BTC-G   Wink

will you need a special wallet for claiming?

Or can you claim it with a normal bitcoin wallet?

no, you need "special" wallets in order to claim these new coins. because they are different altcoins. it is like having another wallet for bitcoin and litecoin separately.

make sure to only download legit wallets though. find them either on their official websites or their official announcements.

If it's a fork that produces a new coin, then essentially that means two versions of the chain... so whatever you hold one on chain you'll hold the same amount on the other. The name of the coin is the only thing that changes (on one chain) to allow people to differentiate between them.

As long as you control the Bitcoin private keys of your wallet, you will receive the Bitcoin Gold equivalent of it in your wallet after the fork. I think Bitcoin is now heading to Proof of Stake
