It's time for a little fun. I don't know if you've noticed, but newspapers have a fun time coming up with puns for headlines. Things like "Legislature Gives Health Shot In The Arm."

Just for laughs, let's see what kind of preferably funny (or just powerful) Bitcoin related headlines we can come up with. I'll go first:

"Bitcoin Gives Bernanke a Run for His Money"

[big ass text]

when that happens, there would be no "newspapers" anymore, as they're all sponsored by the ministry of truth.

And the alternative media would largely remain online I assume. Better for the environment too.  Smiley

"Bitcoin Fever Spreads"    <---- Pro tip: Time to sell when you see this one.

Umm, logic failure right there!

When bitcoin fever spreads, the price will go UP ... why would you want to sell BEFORE it goes up. Hold, when it rises, THEN sell when the 'Bitcoin Fever Over' is announced.

Because it's about positive BTC sentiments. If it were remotely negative like a post about how GOX has halted USD withdrawals, the moderator would delete it or move it somewhere that very few would read it.

If you question the Kool-Aid then you'll be ostracized.

Ministry of Truth? Is that a UK thing? In the U.S., news companies are independent (although most rely on the AP).

This is hilarious.

No, it is not a UK thing, it is a literature thing and it refers exactly to what you believe are 'independent' news companies, which you cannot know for your very belief.

If Orwell could read this in his grave he'd be flabbergasted (that's the guy who wrote the piece of literature that you don't know because you spend your time watching independent Fox news and stuff).

Still shaking in laughter Smiley.

Actually, I do know George Orwell (writer of 1984, Animal Farm etc, and a guide to improve writing). I realize they are not independent of influence, but they are legally independent. No, they are not run by the Illuminati or any BS like that.

By the way, MSNBC (wow), CNN, the New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Huffington Post (also wow) and etc, are no better than Fox, they just slant the other way. At least Fox let's Stossel have a voice.

Also, I rarely watch Fox, or any TV news for that matter. I do read the Houston Chronicle and various News Republic sources, but I also do my research which is how I became a Libertarian. There's only so many ways to get news, and unfortunately, too many of the alternative sources argue (objectively of course) that the U.S. carried out the 9/11 attacks or that the W.H.O. is plotting to commit global genocide and other BS.

I'd rather slanted news that requires me to think for myself than baseless conspiracy theories and UFO stories.

Lastly, I want to clarify I meant no offense to the UK, but they do have fairly state controlled media.
