Hi everyone, hoping you can all help me (yes i'm a newb).

So I recently received an Antminer L3+, plugged it in - started running low then became very loud.  got it connected to nicehash fine, showed as an "active worker" but also offline?

I then checked the miner status, and it's not hashing. 0's everywhere, no hashing boards showing up, no activity really.  Just the fan speeds.  Red "fault" light is on.  Was still running loudly.

A friend who also set up his Antminer L3+s instructed me to power down and power up several times, even power down/up the internet.

Turned it back on, starts powering up slowly, then fast/loud. red "fault" light turns back on.  I left it running and went upstairs for a few minutes, suddenly I heard it get really quiet.. came back down to hear it running low/quietly again.  i powered down/up several times and now it does not even show connection to the internet (yellow and green lights are off) by the ethernet port (the internet still works bc i'm currently on that network). it is still running quietly and nothing has changed.

i'm thinking it's a dud?  Huh

has this happened to anyone and/or can they assist? any help or insight is greatly appreciated.  Smiley Grin

First thing first, how are your powering your rig ?
With APW3++ or a mix of 2 P/S ?

You need all your PCIe Power connected and enough juice.

APW3++, connected 2 per hashing board, then 1 = 9 total PCIe (one is unused) - is this correct?

That sounds right. Have you checked everything here:

?

Yes - i looked through the list, it seems like rebooting should solve most issues.

This morning I plugged it back in and it still runs quietly, never fully powering up. No indicator lights are on. The manually reset button isn't doing anything. I think it might be issue #19.

Thoughts?

Thanks for the help.

Did you ordered form bitmain or any 3rd party reseller ?
Sometimes you have to wait 15-20 minutes till the L3+ connecting to the pool and start hashing ..
Did you get a error msg on the System / overview tab like " Socket connection failed " ?
I suspecting you might have a psu problem , or the BB Board or IO Board went bad ...

Once you start it up, connect to it and log in.

On the system tab, click Kernel Log.

Scroll ALL the way down to the bottom.

Copy and paste the last 20 or 30 lines in here.

I did order from a 3rd party seller. The unit does not power up, the controller doesn't seem to be working properly.  The seller agreed to a refund (thankfully).

Thanks for your feedback.
