Even though cryptocurrency payments are currently significantly limited, number of their advocates is increasing every day. Petition for Amazon to introduce payments using Bitcoin and Litecoin was signed by 10 000 people already! More: https://dowbit.com/over-10-000-people-want-btc-and-ltc-payments-in-amazon/

Even though I can understand that people are looking forward to see Amazon at some point allows people to use Bitcoin as payment option, I see nothing in Litecoin being included as well. I honestly haven't seen anyone demanding Amazon to accept Litecoin, ever. That being said, a petition where people say they want to see Amazon adds Bitcoin as payment option is completely different from people actually spending their coins there. People aren't willing to spend their coins, knowing that they potentially might end up seeing the price shoot up significantly -- this is the main obstacle for people to not spend anything.

The number of people asking Amazon to accept Bitcoin doesn't matter. Amazon would weigh its options carefully. It wouldn't want to be converted into a money laundering centre and run foul of authorities.

Who says that this is going to happen? Merchants in most cases accept Bitcoin through a third party service such as BitPay taking care of the entire Bitcoin payment process ~ this requires nothing from Amazon at all. It will prevent them from the potential hassle and of course the volatility. At this point it's safe to say that the more traditional merchants by far aren't willing to accept Bitcoin directly, mainly due to the volatility. But even if they did end up accepting Bitcoin directly, how exactly will the Bitcoin payment option offered by Amazon get abused according to you? Paying for goods in Bitcoin, and then requesting a refund in fiat? Please explain.

The petition does not mean anything. It can be cheated by hiring a service like the same service that has been farming bitcointalk accounts.
If you really want to start buying items online with bitcoin, use Openbazaar. I heard version 2 is good.

This suggests that bitcoin is much more popular than we thought. And it makes me very happy. This makes bitcoin stable and strong. Many investors will pay attention to the crypto currency

I must agree with you at this point, the majority of crypto-guys are just holders, so the desired effect by these companies may not be what they are looking for, but in the end is free publicity for bitcoin, so why not? If you really want to start buying items online with bitcoin, use Openbazaar. I heard version 2 is good.
Yes Openbazaar is really interesting, but IMHO is on a very early stage yet, maybe with time....

This suggests absolutely nothing. I'm sorry to say, but the way you think and express your thoughts, it perfectly confirms that you and a whole lot of other people are rookies, and thus don't understand what's going on. Aside from that, I don't see Amazon accepting Bitcoin at all - and the reason is well explained by the post from RichardsNY; People aren't willing to spend their coins, knowing that they potentially might end up seeing the price shoot up significantly
Amazon thouroughly investigates every potential move they might set, and that would clearly point out that people indeed aren't spending Bitcoin regularly enough to make them list it. It's quite normal since people more and more understand that their Bitcoins are a precious asset that will only appreciate in value in the forthcoming years. It is what it is.

Litecoin is popular and pretty old crypto-currency, but why to not add Etherum in this list? It is also popular crypto-currency, which is in demand today and showing big perspectives. But as I heard the creator of Litecoin predicted -90% drop the next year and this fact make all holders to start to worry. Who agree with me?

I hate to be that person, but 10000 people is a very miniscule amount compared to Amazon's total user base. Should they consider accepting Bitcoins in the future, it won't be because 10000 people signed a petition. This should at least get them talking, but I would be surprised if they weren't already talking about it behind the scenes. He said it could drop, warning someone on twitter who wanted to put all their money on Litecoins. Also, he said Litecoins or any other cryptocurrency, not just Litecoins. He didn't predict it. He was highlighting the volatility of crypto in general.

A lot of different predictions. But not always they become a reality. I believe that LTC will be one of the most popular crypto-currencies. And it's very easy to use this currency. Transactions are confirmed much faster than bitcoin. Therefore, I believe that this currency should also be used in large trading floors

Yes, but one thing is when you hear such news from a simple forum member who heard it from somewhere do not know from where, and from the coin creator. I think all Litecoin holders now on tention even if it's just " could".

In my opinion Amazon wouldn't be all that interested in implementing bitcoin or cryptocurrency payments in the near future. Of course, people in support of bitcoin would be interested to support the adoption of bitcoin but that doesn't really mean that there's huge overlap between bitcoin and amazon users.

A whole 10,000 people? Gosh. That's going to keep Mr Bezos up at night thrashing and moaning.
There's nothing in it for Amazon to accept BTC. If it ever does happen it'll be one of the very, very last places to do so. They have no incentive to accept it. None of their customers have any incentive to pay with it unless they already own crypto.

Amazon sneezes on petitions that ask things they do not want to introduce this is akin to petitions to the goverments in some countries i.e. get 20.000 people sign it and get a chance for the president (or whoever does this work for him ) to read it and... disillusioned members of "democracy" (which is as we know, the power of democrats) do not realise they decide nothing,if Amazon considers adding bitcoin good for business-it will be added not any other way

As of now, Amazon remained to be quite in the face of some pressure to add Bitcoin in its many mode of payment. Will it soon accede to the demand or will it continue to ignore the request to consider Bitcoin? This is something we will see soon. Personally, I am hoping that Amazon will seriously look at Bitcoin and come up with the necessary platform or infrastructure allowing the integration of Bitcoin into its sales network. We understand that they are cautious with Bitcoin all because of its volatility which can seriously affect a retailer's profit margin if there would be changes in value in the downward direction. I am giving Amazon more time to think this matter seriously but am so sure that soon they will listen to the demand and will finally accept Bitcoin -- it would be a big news for Bitcoin and this alone can help push Bitcoin as a real currency and not primarily as the store of value.

The number of people wanting to see Amazon take up BTC and LTC payments might seem insignificant but for a company as big as Amazon... am pretty sure they are consulting on whether its safe to accept cryptocurrencies on their stores...should this happen these digital currencies will go to the moon.

Apparently half the households in all America are signed up to Amazon Prime. So let's conservatively assume 200 million people in the US alone buy from Amazon. 10,000 people is just a little bit fewer than that figure. They don't give a shit about crypto. They don't need to give a shit. Almost all merchant adoption has been tiny or a failure. At this stage in its life it isn't what Bitcoin is for.

Bringing bitcoin and ethereum to amazon, or maybe litecoin too, will make cryptocurrencies more famous, because everybody will want to search for them and they will investigate a lot about it, because they will ask to theirselves, "what the fuck are those?" and for sure a lot of people will feel tempted to buy and start investing in cryptocurrencies. So this is a perfect idea, i really hope that they add cryptos to sites like amazon.
