Mining with an ASIC will not since ASIC stands for Application specific integrated circuit. This term will always fit for future mining rigs. However 25GH/s will probably become obsolete pretty quickly.

It will become like having gpu's before asics arrived.

So as the network hashrate and difficulty increases, the playing field for asics will level out.

Then it will be a matter of getting more efficient and powerful asics ... but still asics.

And those who want to play the game bigtime, will go with the asic farms like they did with the gpu farms.

i'm waiting for the asic chips to ship cause i have preordered some chips wich will hash at 16.gh/s.. since i'm not getting it before august i hope the difficulty will not raise to much.. i'm not in to get rich quick but i want to mine some bitcoin's for myself just to be a part of bitcoin! of course it would be nice to mine as much as possible

Those ASIC with higher Watt consumption per GHash    But not this or next year I believe

I don't think they will hence the name, but they will get better and smaller as time goes on. More GH/s for less watts

There will be more efficient asics as designs and processes improve, it'll be the equivalent of your graphics card getting old a no longer being worth it.

We are working on really hardocre SoC based ASIC with 1024 engines and computing power with over 40Ghash/s in single chip with efficiency about 3.5W/Ghash

The problem is manufacturer price from design to fab house... Now are using 14nm TSMC technology and it really expensive for designing not talking about manufacturing.

I think the exchange rate will keep getting higher as the difficulty increases.

My reasoning: As the difficulty increases, so too does the security of the Bitcoin network. It also increases the value of one Bitcoin relative to one gigahash. Now, looking at it this way, some amount of money will give you some amount of computational power. The value of a gigahash in Bitcoin will change as the difficulty increases, but the value of a gigahash in US dollars or in Euros is much less malleable. Eventually, the value of BTC will go up relative to USD or EUR, for this very reason.

So, a 25 ghash/s ASIC will net you decreasing amounts of BTC over time, but it will probably give you the value of 25 ghash/s in EUR or USD, which isn't a trivial amount and decreases much more slowly.

So: The bad news is that your 25 ghash/s will give you less BTC than you are expecting. The good news is that those BTC will be worth more in EUR or USD than you are expecting.
