I made a purchase, I paid in bitcoin and the person did not give me the product.
Do you have any means to recover what was paid, since you do not want to deliver the product?

If it is p2p then you should've made sure first that the person can be trusted. It is not like Paypal here. Once the transaction was done it cannot be taken back.
Why dont you post the transaction details here and if he is someone trusted and he provided information which is glued to his address then he could be traced somehow.

Nope, it is a one-way ticket. No way to get anything back, since in Bitcoin there is no company behind controlling everything.

Like Reid said, post your details in this thread. There is always a risk when buying stuff from a total stranger on the internet. You always need to be careful with things like that.

Was it via a website or forum? If so then there might be some recourse in terms of bad rep but the actual transaction can't be reversed.

it depends on "where" you made your purchase. obviously if it was from a reputable person/website you simply open a ticket with them and you get either your goods or your money back.

if you made the purchase from some shady unknown person on the internet then just kiss your money goodbye and next time remember to use either escrow (a third party trusted person) or use a 2 out of 2 multi sig key with the seller.

How did you transacted with that person? Did you use a website or an escrow? If you haven't used an escrow then your deal with any person is at risk. And what is that product either, did he gave you any words after sending the payment for the products you'll avail? There's no way to get what you paid unless he'll send it back. Please clarify and put specific information that we need to know.

Nope, there is no way to recover what has you paid to the seller since this is one of the Bitcoin's main feature which is no chargeback.
Everytime a Bitcoin transaction is sent, there is no way to redo it if it has been verified but if the transaction is not verified for a certain amount of time, the transaction won't be sent. So if your transaction has confirmation then I'm afraid you can't recover what have you sent.

Sad to say that you have been scammed.

Nope. Bitcoin transaction is irreversible. It p2p which means no third party involved. Care you share more information though? Perhaps the Transaction id or even the identify of the person who you deal with if the individual is a member of the forum. He/she can be tag and that is like a red flag and a heads up for the community not to deal with them since they are not trusted.

You know what? you can't get back your bitcoin. Maybe you can track his/her transaction but you can't take it back (In my opinion). Internet is wild field, there are many peoples in it and the bad thing about it is that you don't know who's in the other site of the internet, her/his intention.

Nowadays there are many people who wants to take advantages to others. So the lesson here is to use escrow and don't trust easily to people you don't know because you don't know his/her true intention.

First you need to contact the support to ask them regarding this matter secondly is you can't get back what you've already sent to the seller because first it is risk to buy online thru bitcoin payment method. 3rd If you the website is familiar it is easy for you to contact the support and ask about wheres your ordered is just give them the full details of your transaction even the payments.

Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed. However, if you would have used escrow services, transactions would be safe for both parties. Other than that there is no way to get your bitcoins back unless the person is willingly going to refund you.

It depends on how you made the transaction and where you paid that person but chances are very low to retrieve back your bitcoin. A lot have been victimized by scammers so you should be very careful buying products to persons you barely know. Use an escrow if you don't know the person.

Post more detail about your purchase, if the guy to whom you have sent bitcoin is just scammer than he will not deliver any product to you and will not send you your bitcoin back. You can't file charge back against the seller like in other reversible payment methods because bitcoin payments are irreversible.

Looks like your bitcoin is gone.

Yes it is hard to be undone because the transaction had been already made I think getting an escrow is needed if you don't trust a direct transaction with the seller because it is totally a misguided word of trust that is needed, and I think you would need to read comment first before engaging in a transaction involving bitcoin.

Its important to know where you made your purchase. Was it on this forum? Online shop? Deep web? Someone you chatted with on skype?
If you can't contact support you probably lost your BTC's.. but you can do start investigations. If you can find out who this person is you can take legal actions.

How about you post some info about this whole situation.
I tried to buy something from someone I met / a store / a website i ordered online I spoke with them , I know who they are , I sent x amount of coins worth z dollars.

Do you think we are all Nostradamus here to instantly know from one line what happened?

And the only mode you might be able to recover this is by filling a complain at your nearest police station although your chances are not only slim, but almost negative.

ONLY deal with licensed businesses. Otherwise you are completely relying on the honesty of the counter-party. You may also consider escrow using a trusted entity.

Sorry to say there is no way to reverse a crypto currency payment. That is why using an escrow is important, please consider paying the escrow fees than losing your bitcoin.

Which website or source did you buy from? Perhaps you would like to share to warn other members.

Fortunately mate so far every purchases I had with Bitcoin was the best experience for me, no credit card and no hassle just an address and the amount

I had a few failed purchases but the merchants refunded me, when you are buying something with Bitcoin if you don't send the requested amount in less

Than 10 minutes because of the fluctuations the seller could cancel your order. they use payment processors which convert the coins to fiat and sends to

The bank account of the seller. even if you paid with Paypal they would only charge back if you purchased from a verified merchant.
