Qtum aims to be a platform where decentralized applications for the business world such as supply chain management, telecommunications, social networking and Internet of Things can be built upon.
Earls explains to Cointelegraph:
“I wouldn’t call Qtum an Ethereum killer, in fact we hope Ethereum continues to grow, because the Blockchain industry is still small. If a platform like Ethereum were to die, then a number of great people would probably leave the industry. That being said, “Ethereum Killers” have the benefit of seeing where the shortcomings of the platform are, and then trying to correct them. The crazy thing about the Blockchain space is that nothing is foreseeable beyond a year’s time. I think Ethereum will hold its own in that time, but other platforms will definitely cut their lead.”
I agree with Earl on this. Both can co-exist.

Qtum is really a good coin with prospects for growth! The ethereum is now on horseback! But soon people will understand that there are coins with better properties. Ethereum is a well-advertised project. Soon everything will change

I still remember Qtum in February I think when it went up and it was one of the best during that time and a lot of hype surrounding it. However, there was a lot of accusations and I'm not sure how do the team weathered the storm. And then it was a roller coaster ride since then. But I do believed that the coin is not a scam and the team behind has worked hard to reach this far. And yes, I agree that it is not a Ethereum killer but rather a project can co injects something in the ecosytem.

Ethereum will not be killed by Qtum. Ethereum will grow as big as Bitcoin by end of next year, I presume.

Recently it seems like there is a lot of hype surrounding "ethereum killer" coins.
QTUM could definitely have a good year ahead of it, because right now the prices are the lowest since it actually got out. Plus the price seems to go in cycles, meaning that a pump could be due very very soon. I don't think that it'll ever exceed ETH though, though maybe NEO.

I don't think Qtum will kill Ethereum, since most of the ICO's are using Ethereum and it is a trusted wallet to store money. Bitcoin prices had already increased now Ethereum too, just look the last few weeks how much it changed.

I hate all this talk about "x killer", whichever coin it might be. Even more so in the case of Ethereum. As of now, eth is unkillable with all its partnerships and strong team, bar some catastrophe or some incredibly innovative product that completely eclipses eth. I'm not seeing any catastrophes looming on the horizon, and - while QTUM si definitely a solid project that I am personally very fond of, it will never kill eth. The crypto world is rather small now, but it won't be like that forever. It will be big enough for all these projects to coexist. QTUM needs to identify its niche. Gunning for eth won't do it any good.

Ethereum does not die easily. If you die, the market will collapse. 60-70% of the altcoins are in the ether chain.

QTUM may be a good coin but it is not realistic (at the moment at least) to call it an Ethereum killer. ETH is very firmly established and has a strong team. I can't see anything taking its place. Of course that may change in future, but QTUM has a long way to go to prove itself worthy as #2 coin.

Ethereum has good developers with Vitalik Buterin. After hard folk "Metropolis", ETH has been put into operation in a better way. Therefore, there is no doubt that Qtum can't kill Ethereum in near future.

Would say complement ETH pending the use case. All platforms should collaborate ideally. We are a social movement ...

Tell me which coin was created on QTUM's platform? I can't remember any Anyway, QTUM and other similar projects like waves, neo, etc are in a hype mode right know, because of the success of ETH. But their real price is much lower, especially QTUM, because we didn't see any successful project on it's platform yet

ethereum has a good working platform. i dont know the exact number but i guess more than %70 new coins are based ethereum and they are plenty of coins on etherdelta , with low volume but still a working system. so a killer ethereum coin can will come in future but not rigth now. Qtum has a potential to grow up. it can be much more valuable as now but still need a lot time and of course new ICOs based Qtum. I belive that Qtum devs work hard. they built their own platform that is something big but it doesnt mean at all that its Ethereum killer. even i dont get people why they use this word so often ( another one is go to moon ) and i hate it. blockchain technology is new and still there is so big potential to grow up. so basically we dont need a killer but a new and good project.
by the way after this fucking annoying btc fork qtum price will go up , now its so cheap. can buy some now or later.

HOw can qtum kill ethereum when it is built on the ethereum blockchain? What a silly statement here. Qtum is just a token and it is lied on the ethereum blockchain. That means that if there is no ethereum, there will be no qtum. There is nothing can kill ethereum right now. It is a strong cryptocurrency with a lot of advancement
