Bitcoin and Litecoin are the only ones that need staking.  Other coins have their unique features like smart contracts.  These are the only 2 that will be developped.

the development of each coin is going to depend on the community commitment of each.

Given the structure of the distribution, litecoin naturally will have more members involved, but there is a bigger supply of coin available.

Let's see how each coin grows up.
