I am needing urgent assistance my funds were sent through Bittrex to a address that wasn’t supported by usdt to coinbase. They told me to speak to support to help me retrieve my funds that are sitting in the block chain. I can’t understand why no one can assist with this prices. My funds were denied when other transactions couldn’t go through because it wasn’t compatible address. Why is that this wasn’t a compatible address and it went through as it was and now my funds are just out there. I need assistance from you to help recover these funds it wasn’t sent correctly through my Bittrex account. I have talked with Tether and they have said to reach out to the support team of Bittrex and Coinbase states the same. Someone has to know how to recover my funds from the codes and transaction process.
This is from Bittrex support:You have sent USDT to a BTC address, these wallets have addresses that validate to each other, but the wallets are not compatible for receiving coins. You'll need to research how to remove a private key from a Bitcoin address and import it into a USDT wallet to recover these coins. This is from Omni support: The Omni Protocol and all tokens created on the Omni protocol (like Tether) use the Bitcoin blockchain for transactions. That means any Bitcoin Address is considered a valid address within an Omni protocol transaction. Unfortunately, just because coinbase does not recognize or support Tether USDt does not mean the transaction is invalid.
Once the transaction is sent and confirmed on the network it is done and irreversible. The Tether tokens would be moved from the senders address to the receiving address and, just like Bitcoin transfers, there is no 'undo'. The only way to recover the funds right now is if Coinbase is willing to work with you/us to create/sign the recovery transaction. Unfortunately you are not the first person to encounter this issue. There have been more than a few dozen people who have accidentally sent unsupported funds to Coinbase and Coinbase is not offering to work with them/us on any recoveries. For the moment all these funds are essentially stuck
This is from Tether support team:
Tether USD₮ is an Omni issued asset. This means that only an Omni Protocol compatible service/wallet address will be able to receive a USD₮ transaction and display the funds properly. Additionally all USD₮ are owned/controlled by the address they currently exist on. This means that once USD₮ has left the Tether (or any partner) platform there is no ability or control over them on other addresses/services by the sender. They can not be recalled or moved from the receiving address by anyone other than the receiver. In order to regain access to those funds you will need to contact the service provider or owner of the address you sent the USD₮ and request their assistance in recovering the funds and either getting them credited to your account properly (if the destination service supports USD₮) or having the funds returned to an address you control. We are more than willing to work with anyone or any other support departments to aid in this recovery process however you will need to reach out to the relevant support team/people and open a ticket explaining what happened and requesting their assistance in the recovery process.
If you own the destination address and can export the private key for the address you can always take your private key to a Tether enabled wallet, like
https://www.omniwallet.org, and import it to regain access to your funds
Can someone please help me recover my funds or point me in the right direction to someone who can
