Hello just new here what do you think will happen once
BTG mining is started
is the difficulty going to burst
because of miners fleeing in the new coin

BTG mining is started

Are you sure it is started? From what I know it should happen end of October or early November.

What coin do you mean? BTG is Bitgem - very old coin (from 2013 year). It can be found at the thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=207008.0.
Could you give us more info?

Maybe talking about Bitcoin gold.
It seems hopeful for mining society.
I want it to make some hash to spread out from ethereum mining. It's too centralized right now.

I think it will be salvation for the miners who extracted the air from increasing its complexity, and it will push the price of BTG to the top if everything goes smoothly!

Is Bitcoin Gold another BTC fork like BCH/BCC was? Will every BTC holder be receiving the corresponding amount of Bitcoin Gold?

I do not believe in Bitcoin gold. The coin will be released soon, but we have no information. Idea is good, the implementation is bad. When Bitcoin Cash relesed we know all.

What do you expect the price to be in the beginning? I think it will be very low (about 0.005-0.01) which doesnt make sense because it is supposed to be "gold". I really dont think this one will live a long life...

If it goes by btc and btc cash then only 21 million coins of btc gold which means coin price will be very high and so the difficult to mine it given time. Yeah price in the beginning could be low but will not stay low.

I think, if gold dont have hipe effect at the beginning, they will stay one of thousands of cheap coin. Because bitcoin gold have no new tech, coins are mined on gpy a long time ago.

Yes.
Does this mean one should load up on BTC right before the fork and get (another) free lunch?...  Lips sealed

Lot's of unanswered questions regarding this upcoming BTC fork. The biggest being no mention of a failed ICO that netted the developers a 200,000 BTG premine.

I will continue to dual mine ETH, especially since the profitabilty will go up once the Byzantium fork goes through next week.

Would BAU or BTAU or BTCAU be acceptable names for this fork other than #$@(}@%>  ?
