Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I would try coinbase.com. It is easier for newer members and isn't confusing. (I would post a referral link, but apparently that's spam.  Roll Eyes ) There are also other exchanges where you can buy bitcoin. It is best, after purchasing these bitcoin, to place inside cold storage. I personally like my bitcoins in paper wallets for the most part. Keep your private keys in a safe place and don't share them with anybody.

To generate private keys, I would use bitcoinaddress.com. Basically it is a website that generates private keys for you. I checked the website on scamadvisor and it says the site is trusted and that was enough for me at least.

To find ways to earn more bitcoin that you can store away safely go to earnthosebitcoin.com

There are also countless of Youtube videos to watch, but be careful. Some people on YouTube don't know what they are talking about. Always be careful and do your research.

Bitcoin.org will tell you a lot of things that you don't know about Bitcoin and how it works. GL

Ranked to most safe to least safe way to store your Bitcoin is as follows:
Paper Wallet > Hardware Wallet > Online Wallet > Exchange

Of course there are caveats to each, but use your discretion and pick the one that suits closest to your needs.

Use an exchange, a reputable one which has a relatively large volume, long history, and active users with a fair amount of reviews supporting the platform. Once you own the Bitcoin, move it to a wallet only you own, typically this means a desktop wallet or some other kind of wallet you have complete control and selection over. Now, moving on from that, the security becomes completely in your own hands once you have it in a "secure" location. There will be no saving your assets if you lose them without backups.

There is no perfect answer to this question.Always use hardware wallets to store your first bitcoin.Affording 120$ for this device will protect your bitcoin from any kind of attack. Better safe than sorry.

First step would be finding a reputable exchange. Look some up in your country and make sure it's legit. You could also try localbitcoins but that's a little riskier.

Next, I would recommend you create a wallet with Electrum. It's secure, you control your private keys, and you control the fee you want to pay for transactions.

Lastly, look up some rules for cybersecurity in the internet. This includes basics like getting an antivirus, don't click on shady ads, etc. Also, don't fall for scams. Familiarize yourself with the common ones as they all pretty much follow the same pattern.

Yes even i came to know about lost of bitcoins, that can be avoided if you keep the private keys in a safe place and see that you don't share it with anybody. There are many ways or you can say many wallets and place's where you can store your bitcoin with Tighter security. I have used Coinbase.com, Unocoin, Trezor and zebpay app for storing bitcoins. I recommend coinbase and Trezor which is highly secured one and biggest one for a newbie to try. I am using Unocoin and Zebpay for exchanging bitcoins with my local currency (INDIA-INR) at lowest commissions and fees.

There is nothing like safe exchange. Exchanges are the worst place to hold up your bitcoins. You must go for bitcoin core wallet. This is the best and the most safest way. Generate a private key and transfer bitcoins easily.

You should try and find one of the regulated exchanges {those that adhere to the KYC/AML regulations} and use that to buy

some bitcoins. {Doing it this way, will reduce the risk} To reduce the risk even further, you should transfer those coins to

some kind of cold storage. {paper wallets or hardware wallets} These regulated exchanges can get hacked and you also need

to move those coins to a storage method, where you have sole control over your private keys.  Wink

Go to the right exchange, one with some regulation and insurance like Gemini. Make sure you're using Authenticator based 2FA on it and not phone based.

If you're not planning on spending often then create a paper wallet on a computer that'll never see the internet again. Job done.

Thank you all for your answers.

bitaddress.org is the place to make a paper wallet, or download it from here - https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org

Do some test wallets with small amounts until you're comfortable with it. I've made loads with bitaddress. They all worked fine.

I think we can search different authentic sites for this purpose, I mean for buying and for holding I have my wallet in blockchain, because I think that blockchain wallet is most secure and reliable. You can easily transfer your bitcoin to any place or can convert your bitcoin into dollars or other currency. Nobody can guarantee of any site but you can search for other people who have already bought bitcoin.

Just buy on reputable exchanges which you can buy bitcoin like coinbase, poloniex, bittrex and other reputable trading platforms. When you already bought bitcoin. Quickly send it to your wallet. Don't let your bitcoin stay on exchange unless you wanna trade them for altcoins. Exchanges are vulnerable from attacks from hackers. So be careful. I recommend that you use any offline wallets like mycelium and electrum. These are the wallets I've been using and so far, never encountered any problems since the day i used them. Also there's a peer to peer way to buy bitcoin if you are hesitant on buying at exchanges. Localbitcoins.com is the popular peer to peer marketplace. Just find a person who wants to trade nearby.

It seems to me that the safest way not to lose your coins is to store them on a secure electronic wallet. This is not to store large amounts of coins. You need to divide them. When you hear about the theft of the coins of the blame for this primarily by the users themselves. We often forget about security and therefore become victims.

I therefore agree with you, there are also plenty of exchanges that are trusted, but just try to look for yourself, because everyone has got their own opinions regarding those exchanges. Second one, if you want to secure it, just be better  if you have some back up storage for your private keys, or if its simpler try to look for your local wallet service providers, i think you can contact them immediately in case of clarifications and confusions.

You can buy bitcoin at coinbase.com or find a legit seller at localbitcoins.com. You can also buy bitcoin to a people directly who sells bitcoin. One of the safest way to keep your bitcoin out from hacker is using a hadware wallet like ledger nano or trezor wallet. Offline storage is the best bitcoin wallet.

It's a personal thing. You should be wary of phishing sites to avoid giving out your infos. Also, a very well-known exchange sites would be ideal if you want to assure your security as those sites have many people backing it and supporting it for its good and reliable system. Always remember to check the URL carefully before logging in your wallets because it is always the case of lost coin problems. ( They always got scammed or got hacked through phishing sites.)

You must buy cryptocurrencies that has established a whitepaper and secured blockchain. One of the best is Ethereum! Let me add that the Propthereum ICO crowdsale will run off a decentralized Smart Contract that runs on the Ethereum Blockchain. It is secured with a 256-bit encryption which makes it secure and reliable. Propthereum Tokens will be minted as PTCs. These coins are a digital representation tracking the funding of our ICO and crowdsale. The pre-ICO token sale will take place on November 10, 2017 at 12PM GMT. You may check this link for more information: www.propthereum.io

This is really hard to tell and very subjective for me. There's no such thing as "safest". It's still on us users how we protect, secure our own wallet. In my case I only use online wallet. I am afraid of using private keys as I am not good storing codes. Check which wallet is very reputable in your country. We have one here and it's the one I've been using since I first purchased BTC. I tried exchange as well when I was starting to trade but upon reading here, there are some shady incidents of lost BTC stored in exchanges, not sure who are the ones saying true, but just to make sure, I moved all to my online wallet with 2FA activated.

you, especially myself, must find one of the regulated exchanges that obeys the rules and use them to buy bitcoins.
some bitcoin In this way, it will reduce the risk, you must transfer the coin.
a kind of cold storage, paper wallet or hardware purse and a regulated exchange, I also need it.
to move the coin to a storage method, where you have a single control over your own private key.

it's true, we have to buy or sell bitcoin on a trusted site, if we only use the site that originally likely to create a problem, on your account.

I suggest keeping your wallet Cold Storage this way you are in charge of keeping it safe and not some third-party company. You can read the pros and cons of each wallet here : https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/wallets/ Make an "intensive" research before you decide which wallet you want to use.

There are a lot of stolen wallet, is not because of the use of safety awareness caused by. The safest way to use bitcoin wallet of course is to use cold wallet. As long as you don't get to the Internet, hackers will not get your password. But the price is very high and cold Wallet

Crypto currency can be bought on international stock exchanges and in darknet. If laziness - in the "clean Internet" you dig up a dozen sites (at least), where the exchange is offered. There are also a number of topics on local forums, and localbitcoins.com, where you can find ads and create your own. At first glance - a terrible site, but if you "will work" it, you will definitely like it. In addition, bitkoyny can be bought with hands, not using banks to pay for the transaction - this is an ideal option.

The best way to buy and hold BTC is like this... Buy them from peer to peer exchanges where you have to give the least amount of info, but still use privacy features like two factor authentication and escrow transcations, like localbitcoins.com does. Then use privacy wallets like Samourai Wallet which has an insane amount of privacy features, most you've never even heard of or thought of.

I think the safest way to buy Bitcoin is when you place a 2fa on your exchange account then if you have that coin already and your ready to hold on to that coin then you should probably transfer it to an offline wallet or hardware wallet to make sure your coins are safe and the only person that has access to those coins is only you.

Find reputable exchanges such as coinbase for buying BTC with fiat. As for storing BTC, it is important to use a wallet which you have full control. Paper and hardware wallets are secure for storing BTC.

First thing: Use an offline wallet like Electrum
An offline wallet like Blockchain or an echanges wallet like LocalBitcoin, is unsafe, because they can close their site and take all the BTC, or can get hacked

You can buy bitcoins in coinbase which is an popular exchange but it is not available in all countries so you can buy at localbitcoins.com which is also a safe place and available in almost all countries. But storing is little bit confusing,it is based on how much bitcoins you gonna store in that wallet. There are three types of wallet are available so hot wallet, software wallet and hardware wallet. If you wanna store it for long time the hardware wallets are best which is more secure. The three most popular and best Bitcoin hardware wallets are Ledger Nano S,KeepKey and Trezor.

You could buy bitcoins from any reputed exchange. But don't leave your bitcoins there.Download a new wallet ,for example from Electrum.org website and install it in your desk top.Don't ever give your private keys to any one giving offers that your investment will be doubled.

You could buy bitcoins from poloniex or bittrex exchange.Never leave your bitcoins in any exchange as it may get hacked as it previously occurred in Mt.Gox exchange.

Bitcoin is untraceable , nobody's its hard or maybe impossible to track the transaction . Online wallets are to much risky. Breaking the security isn't hard for hackers that's why i always recommend my friends to use hardware wallet to store your bitcoins. Just spend 100$ for hardware wallet and protect your wallet to being hacked or stolen. Desktop wallet is the second best good choice.

I'm usually use local exchanger for convert my btc into fiat and for secure wallet, I recommend electrum also ( offline wallet )
I've been using over 6 year and I was use blockchain over 3 years until they disable pay to many feature.
So yeah.. it's recommend to save at offline wallet rather than online / exchangers

By storing bitcoins you will not trust third party wallets. Because of this, bitcoin loss is often the case. Even though it is said to be secure. Because hackers can afford to open our accounts. So you should be in the wallet to hold the private keys. Anyone who attempts to make your wallet can not open it because you need to place almost one letter, number, and other no # in the next sequence.

i had never experienced before like Stolen or lost the coins maybe the companies buy the bitcoin at high price after that the price fall down and they thought someone stole there coins. Anyways if you have huge amount of bitcoin on your wallet you should move to hardware wallets of any offline wallets. Just spend some dollars on hardware wallets and save the coin forever

You can use Coinbase.com using your credit card.
or you could buy using localbitcoins.com (I use it too)

After getting your bitcoins for fiat you could store them
in a cold wallet such as Nano Ledger S or Trezor.

P.S. Remember to make copies of your private key and
keep it in several places

Safest and cheapest way to buy bitcoin is through coinbase, bitstamp like established trading platform.

Safest way to store your bought bitcoin is to use hardware wallet like trezor. Cheapest and safest cold storage solution is paper wallet.

You have to keep in mind that you should never share your backup phrase or private key of your bitcoin wallet/address with anyone else and should always make proper backup of your wallet so that you can access your wallet in future without any issue.

Better we save in local exchanger that exist in your country, because if we save there security is assured. Now it's a lot of theft especially for bitcoin storage, a lot of people who want to get a lot of coins especially for our old account.

If you have a big amount of bitcoin better get your own paper wallet so you can secure your bitcoin even for a long period of time. You can still have an online wallet but it is recommended not to use only one wallet because if that's will be hack you can lose everything in an instant unlike if you have different wallets. Also good encryption is important so no one can find it stealing getting your savings and investments

For safety of your coins you need to read all safety rules about this and for secure buying and selling its also need some work as every time use escrow for this because without this any one can scam you and use safe sites for your purchasing is good for you store in wallets which you have control never share your phrase and key with any one

I suggest that you used a secured site when storing your bitcoin online. You can if its a secured site by just seeing the green lock next to the url of the following site you are using. First of all if you want to securely buy and hold onto bitcoin use a exchanger that is easy used and have many verification and confirmation before you can withdraw your bitcoins. My advice also to you that you must used two wallets , the one is for storing your bitcoin and the other is for trading your bitcoin.

To secure your bitcoin you should only trade to legit site...so how do you know if the site is legit...make some review in that site...do some research and ask for some feedbackto move those coins to a storage method, where you have sole control over your private keys

To secure your bitcoin for buy, sell or store it, you must search the wallet that had a private key, private key that just you own and know about it. For know what the wallet can save your bitcoin, you must research all about bitcoin wallet that all people used. Search some review about bitcoin wallet that have private key.
