The bitcoin economy is too small for multiple BIG exchanges. Each one has pluses and minuses, it depends on what your needs are.

Go with Bitcoin7 if you are outside of the USA. Or any other decent exchange. TradeHill is far too expensive with the bank transfer fees.
TradeHill's sudden rise smells rather off to me. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they had a hand in on the recent shenanigans.

That's like saying Hyundai and Kia had a hand in Toyota's recent "sticky accelerator" debacle.

Use everything. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Try to give support to more exchanges.

who cares- follow the volume.
if someone can post higher btc traded / month for a couple months than btc move there- you don't want to play in illiquid markets.

I just sold a few bitcoins on btcex.com It is indeed Russian (bad English + http calls to yandex.ru ) No problem with that, but I had trouble selling 20 BTC for a decent price Their volume is that low...

I reckon https://www.exchangebitcoins.com deserves more attention. Their API is close to MtGox: I apply the 3 following filters on json before the same exact bot logic is run: - There's a "[" missing in your open orders array iif it's empty
- There are "$" sign to trim in the prices
- Order types have to be converted( 'Sell'=2 and 'Buy'=1)
Cheers
