This could be useful for the new crypto-millionaires who are still fiscally residing in some tax slave plantation country:

https://www.businessinsider.nl/vanuatu-accepts-bitcoin-for-citizenship-payment-2017-10/

no capital gains or income taxes in Vanuatu.

Quite an enlightening article and a good decision for Vanuatu. Apparently, this will bring in so many people into their country and will enable businesses and much more development as time goes on.

It is a good thing using the cryptocurrency idea to lure in the crypto-millionaires as you said into their country and I really would not mind. However, no capital gains or income tax ? That is one area I am still yet to understand...

How does investment fair in this place as well ? I guess there is still going to be a lot of research to do.

You will need to be incredibly rich for that to be worth the amount you are going to save in taxes, however, if some people want to do something like this I suggest that you look for a lawyer instead, there are many countries in which you cannot buy citizenship but getting one is not really that difficult, besides some countries have some fast track naturalization process that can be as short as two years.

I highly doubt that anyone would spend his bitcoin for that purpose or if have a choice why not used fiat currency instead.. As price of bitcoin still increasing that would not be a practical thing to do but there is exemptions: if that person really have lot of bitcoins to spear.. Then does anyone will out of the open to tell others that he have that amount of bitcoin and it would be a security risk already..

Nice article but you might come across the citizenship noticed released last year by erteria. Since they less population in their country. They are lack of mens in that country. So girls need a men. As a dashboard investigation, they have 10 girls for 1 men ratio. To change this their government welcomes everyone to marry their country girls with the free citizenship. I hope anyone would love this information.

Great news and very updated as bitcoin is now popular in this year and to adapt that to public processes is a big move that has big impact to bitcoin users on that country or state. I think the leaders or government officials in that area is a bitcoin or cryptocurrency supporters and investors. Happy to hear such news and a little jealous why my country can’t do the same.

Vanuatu knows what is good for it, they are doing a valuable and profitable deal by offering their citizenship for $200000 in bitcoins.
Yes it will be useful only for already rich bitcoin users because many of the users of bitcoin can't afford to go there by giving their life savings.

I don’t know whether this thing is actually possible or not. In case, this is possible then this is the best thing one can ever have in order to have citizenship. Just like you, it is not even possible in my country to buy citizenship at the cost of bitcoins but I really hope that with the passage of time, things will change. Bitcoin will bring lot more good news for this world.

He was referring to Eritrea. It is a Northeast African Country that lost most of their men during the civil war with Ethiopia and the ladies are finding it very hard to get one for themselves (picture that scenario). This forced the government to first of all impose the policy of men in the country marrying two wives and even sponsoring the wedding ceremony  Grin ... then also went to the extent of giving immediate free citizenship to any foreigner that comes in to marry any of their girls. Better than 44BTC right?  Grin

Paying 44 bitcoin's ($200,000) as a one-time-tax, to avoid paying a lifetime of income taxes, would be a great deal for someone who is wealthy.

There are similar deals for those who aren't wealthy btw. They don't involve bitcoin but there are some communities that will give a person land for free, if they live on the land and take care of it and be good contributing members of small communities. Here's an example:

Quote
Canada's Yukon offers free land if you're willing to farm the north

TORONTO (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - In Canada’s far north, the government of Yukon Territory wants to attract small farmers to the frigid region with a simple pitch: free land.

And as global warming makes Canada’s northern regions more hospitable to agriculture by opening once frozen land to farming, the opportunities are growing.

Bordering on Alaska in northwestern Canada, the Yukon has given away nearly 8,000 acres (3,208 hectares) of farmland in the past decade, a senior government official told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. A dozen new applications are under consideration.

Now is a good time to start farming in the Yukon, say government officials.

“Our territory is expected to get wetter and warmer,” said Rod Jacob, a government official with the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources in the capital Whitehorse.

“We may see opportunity with an increased growing season,” Jacob told the Thomson Reuters Foundation in an email.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-canada-farming-landrights/canadas-yukon-offers-free-land-if-youre-willing-to-farm-the-north-idUSKBN1AA27M

Sometimes there are similar offers where free land is given away for those with needed skills in remote areas where visitors seldom travel.

44 bitcoins is a big price for citizenship and only millionaires can afford to purchase it. But maybe it's really worth these money. In some countries income taxes are extremely big and these millionaires pays more taxes every year than citizenship costs. So, buying a citizenship of taxes paradise Vanuatu can be really good and money saving idea in long term.

That's indeed really interesting, though the price is extremely expensive. Though if I would be a billionaire in anything I would likely move to this country. That would be a good place to keep my money as there is no income tax or capital gains. Since bitcoins are not taxable per se anywhere yet, I think it should be taxed as capita gains, which means in Vanuatu it is tax free, well even income tax is not charged so I everyone in crypto are safe here.

After googling this country I amazed how beautiful it is, the island and the people such a beautiful country, I think I'll be happy if living in this country.
Well, 44 bitcoin is extremely cheap if you are a rich man and want to avoid paying a lifetime of income taxes, then build your villa out there living in peace and harmony, instead of paying income taxes why not to buy citizenship so you only pay a one-time taxes.

Is that Eritrea?  My knowledge of geography is that of a 3rd grader, pretty much.  I have a very specialized area of expertise, and none of it is in world events, politics, geography, or any of the social sciences.  Kind of sad, really.

I can see how this would be appealing to a certain class of people, but most immigrants who need to flee a country wouldn't be able to put up that amount.  That's a lot of money to most of the world, that I know.  And I'm not so sure I'd want to leave the good 'ol US of A, even though I swore I would if Dickhole Trump got elected.  Might be a nice place to visit, but I sure as hell ain't spending that much bitcoin to be a citizen there.

If I do have more than 100btc in my wallet right now. I am surely be coming to that place right now. But unfortunately only those with tons amount of bitcoin has the capability to go around the world and be a citizen of every country they like. It’s freedom with money is not fair for those who have not but they do deserve for those who work hard for it. Live life with bitcoin and be with the people of Pacific Nation of Vanuatu.
