ShapeShift vs Changelly

I personally prefer Changelly very much.
I was a user of ShapeShift but experienced significant enough problems that forced me to use Changelly.
And ever since I started using Changelly, I never look back again at ShapeShift.
Some of the advantages of Changelly over ShapeShifts are: 1) There is no 10-minutes limit for a confirmed transaction, 2) Exchange rate is very slightly better, 3) There is no maximum cap to how much you want to exchange, and 4) Because there's no 10-minutes limit for a confirmed transaction, you can pay much lower transaction fee.
But what about you guys?
Which one of the 2 do you prefer, and why?

i have never used changelly and shapeshift was so easy to use on everytime thats why i choose it.

Changelly only has crappy rates when you want to exchange USD to BTC - most likely because you pay with Credit Card. Right now, if you want to buy 1 BTC you need to pay $6535, which is $1000 over the market price. AFAIK, the Crypto <-> Crypto exchange is sometimes even better than the one from ShapeShift (they also have a higher maximum per transaction);

It really depends on you to check both websites for the best price before making a transaction.

This depends on what time and what coins you trade. There are instances when Shapeshift is cheaper especially in times of high volume when theres plenty of movement in the market.

What kind of problems have you experienced with shapeshift.io to make you say you have had enough? I use them and I have not had any problems.

That is crazy. But there should be updates to that story by now. I dont see how Changelly themselves would take this sitting down. A customer losing that large of an amount is the type of thing that lawyers specializing in tort law will be looking for.

I have used both.  I can no longer use shapeshift, because apparently they don't
want to comply with some US laws about private information and thus deny service
to at least the state I'm in.  Their website is totally blocked when I visit it.  But
before that, they were very reliable and their rates weren't too bad.

Changelly is the one I've been using lately, and they're pretty good, except I just
hate their user interface and it annoys me that you have to keep clicking on things
to enter information.  Shapeshift definitely had that going for them.  I heard that
horror story about that guy losing a whole bunch of $, and it may be true, but I've
had a good experience with them so far.

I have used ShapeShift many times before and they have been my fastest method of exchanging currencies without a problem. They also have a really nice interface in contrast with Changelly and a better reputation. They are integrated into various other sites and wallets as well, which is always nice to have. For example, the Mist wallet for Ethereum allows for you to buy Ethereum easily.

Shapshift reduced their miner fee to 75k satoshi from 100k satoshi. Changelly has 80k miner fee. So virtually identical now rate-wise but I prefer SS because it has a lower minimum exchange.

I can't speak for Changelly, but I know that at least ShapeShift does not have a way of being used as a payment processor. You honestly would not want to do it that way anyway; rather, you should implement payment processing yourself and then use ShapeShift as a way to convert all the received tokens to your desired currency. You can automate this by using the ShapeShift API along with your implementation of the payment processing in order to not have to deal with any tokens you do not have a wallet for. I use both, because their prices vary from coin to coin and the time. In many cases shapeshift is cheaper now and support is working good. Changally offers a cheaper fee and quick transactions.

I agree with that and I'm happy with shapeshift so I don't have any reason to find another. And yeah it supported some wallets like coinomi ( actually it also goes with changelly ) and it went smoothly with it and for the fees for converting coins to coins is totally low and even for transferring to other wallet considering have a fast transaction. Having it with me is a big relief as it never gives me a headache.

I prefer Changelly's ethics. Erik Voorhees backed Segwit2x against community consensus, and Changelly promised to allow for exchange of BTC and B2X. I also prefer Changelly because they offer more coins.

However, I use both. Sometimes Changelly doesn't have the coin I need. Sometimes Shapeshift doesn't. Often times, they both don't....

I want only warn coinomi users to pay high attention dealing with shapeshift. Sometimes it is showing a fair exchange rate and on second step it shows an astronomic fee. So look at each step, what you would pay and what to get. I trapped already in. Maybe it was caused by high transfer fee or their fee. Didn't see that on changelly. Now shapeshift also runs smoothly, but I look twice to get fair exchanges.
Changelly also has an aspect, I dislike. I exchanged BTC to an altcoin, that is not listed on many exchangers. Suddenly exchange minimum of that coin went up, shortly after the exchange. Now I can't exchange them back on changelly or I need to buy the same amount to meet the exchange minimum.
Knowing the aspects, if which I must care, I am still using both exvhangers.
