Mt. Gox has more volume and tradehill has a better rep IMO.

Honestly, the MtGox site looks very unprofessional to me.
I created an account there, but never actually used it, because as far as I know, you cannot get Euro paid out from MtGox.
At the moment I use TradeHill, and I like it.

I like the amount of discussion here!

Some very good points have been raised. Mt Gox may have more volume, however it has also been around for longer and TradeHill is certainly catching up, it may take a while before Mt Gox and TH have a comparable volume but TH has made sure first and foremost that its security is top of the line and has a long-term view of the bitcoin market and as such has implemented schemes to incorporate more currencies, as well as top notch security and identity verification. Also yes, we got rid of the referral program. Also if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Enjoy!

Unless you're a big-time trader then Tradehill is just fine for you.  Better customer service beats Mt. Gox's size hands down.

What do you mean by you got rid of the referral program? There is no referral program anymore? There is no hint on the Tradehill page on that.

My mistake, looks like it's still up and running. This raises a good point however, what is the general feel about the referral program? Do you like/dislike the program?

I like the other point it raises, what is the reason you thought the referral program for the site you work for was gone? lol

About a month ago we were discussing getting rid of it and last I heard that was the case, apparently the powers that be must have reconsidered. I don't handle that side of the business, I deal with the security, identity verification, customer support and transactions side of the AUD market. Just shows that we're human I guess!

Used MtGox this morning and all went very smoothly and quickly. I'll give tradehill a try next. The site does 'look' better.

I'd rather leave bank & personal details out of it tbh.I'm looking to invest $5K in coins, doing so anonymously. Not sure I'm willing to give either a go.

Used both, all in all, I went with MTGox because of the larger trade volume.  Both had smooth transfers to Dwolla for me.

It appears to us that people aren't keen to supply their personal information to us so that we can verify them to avoid fraud. How would people feel if they were able to verify themselves, i.e. input your details to GDC, the same system that ANZ bank uses to verify it's clients, straight off the TH website and be verified instantly?

I think I'll use TradeHill and Mtgox depending on when the prices are good, but mainly mt gox. There's a reason they're number one I think

I was part of a private darkpool back in the day. While the darkpool has long since gone, quite a few of us still chat to each other on irc, and we often make private sales to each other on there. Each member of that irc channel is known and trusted. I haven't used MtGox since they were hacked, and I don't trust Tradehill yet.

Been using MtGox since shortly after all the big hacks happened and they beefed up security, just can't beat how quickly my coins sell on it compared to TH.
