Hi,
I found this on the website: "In the future, if Bitcoin becomes truly popular, each single Bitcoin will have to be worth at least hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to accommodate this additional demand." It has to be that way since there never would be more than 21 million Bitcoins.

If I in the future should buy an USB-cable worth 1 USD and 1 Bitcoin is worth 500 000 USD. Would the cable cost 0,000002 Bitcoins?
If so, it would be difficult to quickly get an impression of what the products costs. Its to many zeros.

First of all, it think it is impossible for bitcoin to reach 500 000 USD, even in 50 years. It is just an enormous price and all the bitcoins supply would cost more than all the real money from the whole world. You cant even imagine suge a big number.
It doesnt matter how many zeros are. Most of bitcoin wallet have the option to set your balance in $ so when you send bitcoins to someone just type 1$/10$/100$ and it immediately calculate the amount of bitcoins. There is nothing to worry about

It doesn't matter how many zeroes. Bitcoin can be divided into a number of digits after the decimal point - 10 or 18 for example.

well the way I look at it is that $0.01c at the moment
in "Bitcoin" is currently 0.00000210BTC so in order for
the lowest denomination of Bitcoin "Satoshi" to be equavilent
to the lowest denomination of $FIAT the Bitcoin value
would have to reach approximately $1,000,000

so 0.00000001BTC = $1,000,000

I think this is what you are getting at ?

Yes.  That product would cost 0,000001 million dollars which would be the same as 0,000002 Bitcoins.

The great thing that we humans can do is to change magnitude and give it a new name.

For instance, we can convert 0,000001 million dollars to 0,001 thousand dollars. It's the exact same amount, but it has less zeros! Amazing!

Equally, we can convert 0,000002 Bitcoins to 0,002 milliBitcoins. It's the exact same amount, but it has less zeros!

If that is still too confusing for you...

We can convert 0,001 thousand dollars to 1 dollar. It's the exact same amount, but it has less zeros!

Equally, we can convert 0,002 milliBitcoins to 2 microBitcoins. It's the exact same amount, but it has less zeros!

Now, it is easy to "get an impression of what the products costs".

that's why we have altcoins that are worth $1.  Cheesy. Easy to calculate and less fees. I can't even imagine how much you would pay in fees for that $1 product. Even now I rarely transfer bitcoin due to losing btc in fees.

It would take a long time for bitcoin to reach such higher price. At that time,i think that we would start to trade and buy and sell in satoshis instead of bitcoin. So,any one with a small amount could also be able to buy a part of bitcoin is satoshis.

So,we could just mention the price of the product as 200 satoshis instead of adding zeros and mentioning as 0.00000200 btc.

So,in future the word SATOSHI would be used more than Bitcoin.

Why is it impossible? Bitcoin isn't like other currencies it has a limit of 21 million coins which means the closer you get to that the more in theory it should be worth.

If the price will be high many people cant afford to pay that mcuh for a bitcoin, but what you said would work like that, yes

People can adapt to change, very quickly. Just look at the crazy math that was needed in Zimbabwe, when their currency was

out of control.

People in third world countries managed with this, so why would people in first world countries have a problem with Bitcoin?

It would depend on which currency that 1$ value is derived from, but that would be a lot of decimal places. That's why there is 1 million decimal points with a Bitcoin.

Surely a satoshi would work out to be the same as it's value in fiat no matter how many zeros.

I don’t know what you are saying but the main point here is the value of bitcoin because if some know the value of bitcoin and also have btc than that person will buy a lot of things according to the price of bitcoin, and the value of bitcoin also increasing with the time it means after some time people will buy a lot using bitcoins.

Thats the first thing that i have thought of when i read the name of the topic. In my country as well we had similar problems in '90. But we adapted and we just started adding zeros as we needed more money, but ironically no on the right side of the zero as you can do with Bitcoin(hence limited supply). Inflation killed us, but that can't happen with Bitcoin, since we can go into moar moar moar zeroes, but not lose value of Btc. I am really expecting when moment will come and one satoshi will be 1$... But that is to much expectations Grin Grin Grin

Lol. People will get use to those zeros sooner or later. People are the ones that need to adapt. Not bitcoin itself that was made to he the way it is. But I really do not see why you have to worry about that. Not unless you are still 5 years old today. Lmao. Hahahhaha
But really, i do mot think our generation would ever reach the time that bitcoin prices reach that kind of amount. But looking at the charts, i think that price isn't far from happening someday. And to be honest, i also think that bitcoin prices can really grow bigger than that someday if the volume of demand stays as it is or increases more each day.
