It's going up so fast that it's possible that we'll have an attempt to break $5000 before the fork, although something tells me it won't be that easy without China. On the other hand if China were to really sell everything they had we'd have much lower price right now, so they're waiting or trading somewhere else (Japan?).
I know for a fact that many of them moved to trade in Hong Kong after the government bans, so once the situation settles and they get comfortable in their new environment we could have another push.

With the way things are going, I see price going even above $5000 and it comes with positivity because I don't expect to see any form of crash because a lot of people would have learnt from the last fork exercise where people who are not sure and are quick to make decisions had to dump but now the crash is not likely to happen. Aside that after the fork there is going to an upsurge with several people going to buy more bitcoin with the coming airdrop.

Don't know if it's in this coming week but there is no doubt we are getting there. I'm not worried though, bitcoin seems to be very stable now, and I like that. I think the community is getting more mature, but let's see how it handles the November hard fork. Also all alts are slowly decreasing, and BTC increasing, so this means that investors are getting away from alts and back into bitcoin, and those are excellent news as well, because the proves that the confidence in bitcoin is increasing.

I think it's highly possible to happen. Unfortunately, ETH-BTC exchange rate is declining. Even though, I'm making a huge profit thanks to Bitcoin and Ethereum. I hope it will be worth at least 10 times more than it is today! I wouldn't be suprised if it happened in the next 5 years.

It was massively oversold when everybody started panicking about china banning bitcoin.

It should never have dropped below 4k during this time. Now it simply bounces back up.

It seems like there is a lot of altcoins being liquidated into bitcoin for the gift of free bitcoin gold. This could push bitcoin to and over the $5000 mark

Yes you are right, with current speed bitcoin can make new ATH in next couple days. I'm sure that we are going back to 5000 dollars and more, my prediction for new year is around 7000 and price is finally moving up to that point.
Price surprised me many times in the past, I was sceptical about it, and I always was doubtful. This year I'm a more self confident and I believe in bitcoin more, so I believe in price rise and new ATH very soon, its just a matter of time.
