Creating a token is a fantastic way of raising revenue for a project which may have high upfront costs but has serious potential to be an innovative business later down the line. Some really exciting innovative projects simply just need so much development time to make the project revenue generating so a token sale allows a way to get to that point. It also allows token buyers and holders to profit form the support they gave the project which is linked to the popularity and success of the project.

They do that because they can get a lot of money for what they do. So they are busy doing such kind of things and others may get rich because of them.

I wouldn't be so sure that raising money is the ultimate reason or people who launch projects. I've noticed that people who launch projects have ideas and entrepreneurial spirit, and I guess their motivation is just like any other entrepreneur's, in any other field: to see their idea put into practice and to do what they love.
I also noticed that even when 2 projects seem identical, there are always little differences that can help one project succeed and another one fail. It is also a matter of networking and knowing the right people and having a good team Just like in any other field.

It's simple, people want to easily earn money. They want to quickly create a copy of the coin and get quick money. Often behind the beautiful wrapper of their project lies disorganization and incompetence.

Many people have great ideas, and many people have money, when they meet they can question their ideas, creating a project, making an ICO and getting everyone what they want.

The reason why they try to create their own coins because of Money,that's the key factor or the main reason why they do it, others they want quick easy money.

Because they want to get rich quick and they think this creating their new cryptocurrency is one of the ways to make them rich quick. Partially true but it's difficult to handle this kind of business or company because of a very tight Competition and we have already almost a couple of thousands of cryptocurrencies that is circulating around the world today.
Today, the only cryptocurrency that attracts investors are the one who has good projects and community roles.

Dubious motives, I think their motive is centred on scamming innocent people that can not differentiate between original and counterfeit

I've been participated an ICO before that has been struggling and didn't actually reach their hard capital so the intention is obviously dubious. If they reach the hard capital they'll succeed and proceed with their roadmap otherwise dump like a garbage. Now, I have two shitcoins sitting around a half year now.

Everyone can copy, build their own cryptocurrency since the source code is free to download from github in order to show to the public that the blockchain is safe, secure and must of all decentralized. That's a good idea but scammers aren't contented by just checking if it works or not but instead they build their own sir currency that could lead into scams as they are not backed by good funding or companies.

Yes, that's the main point from them. So many of the copy coin turn to be scam and disappear, and small ICO nor Airdrop is their tactic to do so.

It's much easier to make something out of a template than to invent something completely new. Following this principle, new coins are created. People simply do not want to overstrain their brains.

Some of them want to make a difference by creating their own coin. Some of them are just trying to build to be able to scam other people. Hoping to get a lot of investment and runaway.
