So I just created yet another account on Mt. Gox.  It was set up and logged me in no problem.  It even generates btc addresses for me to send funds to.

But the site never even sent me an email confirming who I was.  Nothing.  IIRC it DID require confirmation in the past?

I thought they were trying to STRENGTHEN their security.

C'mon guys, seriously.

nope it didn't. you didn't even have to enter an email address, one of the big problems for them with the breech.

nvm, I misread.

Confirmation for a deposit? Seriously?  Roll Eyes

Stop trolling please.

Huh

I think we were both referring to confirmation (and the current lack thereof) for merely setting up an account.

i had the same problem.
don't log out because until the account is verified by clicking a link in the e-mail you will receive (according to irc messaging with MagicalTux tomorrow) there is no way to log into your account...

Also, the lost password feature is broken...

But the *original* account I had created DID receive the confirmation email.  I had been logging into it since 6/20.  Today, when the login stopped redirecting to the support page, I could no longer log in.

So I decided to create another account.  Which I did.  I had it generate a btc address for me to send funds to.  It did.  I sent the funds.  Now I can't log into that account either.

Just for fun, I thought I'd see if this were still the case.  It is.  There is no message when I log into a new account that I need to wait for verification.  Nor does it send an email before I can log in.  It logs in automatically.

Guess I need to get on IRC ...

This is fixed

Only for accounts created in the last few moments.  Brand new accounts DO require entering a confirmation code.

Accounts created earlier today and I'm pretty sure ever since the lights went out still cannot log in.  Even if they have $$$ in them.  Ahem.

Somewhat accordingly, the password recovery page still does not work either.  You can enter info, but no reset emails are sent from it.

Hopefully they'll learn to start using their own support forums to announce these things?

I think the only thing to do is for people to try out another exchange... spread the workload, and give poor MtGox a rest  Smiley
