I am actually surprised that you are surprised that a country like Malta can be able to issue a license to an eSports business like Unikrn. I understand that Unikrn is under the umbrella of a big gaming company and they are counting on some rich and famous people to back the project up to success! In fact, I was tempted to also buy some of their tokens offered during its short ICO. While there are countries who decided to not participate in the cryptocurrency bandwagon especially the big market of China, at the same time there are also countries who are open-minded enough to see the potential growth of this industry and they want to have a slice of the action. As shown in Japan, there are many tangible and intangible benefits that a country can derived from getting involved in cryptocurrency and eSports is a big niche which is now also using the blockchain technology to enhance and upgrade their existing platform. This is actually akin to gambling but with many twists and this is one arena where money can be flowing left and right just like what we have in the casino (offline and online).

It's a hit or miss with nations. Hopefully more countries get onboard with this niche because they can make a lot of $$$. What i like about them is that they push hard, maybe not on BTCtalk, but with their platform. Invested because of their team and their vision

I used directbet.eu back then when I was into gambling using my Bitcoins and I think it is a Europe based cryptocurrency gambling, I still want to gamble and bet into it as it is a great website and it is almost complete when it comes to sports in the whole world and any other king of horse racing and a few bunch of casino games but it was suddenly close last May and I really don't know the reason behind it.
Maybe the main reason behind the closure of my favoritw gambling site is the regulation of Europe in cryptocurrency gambling online.

Well it is still a token but still it is a great move for cryptocurrency in general. Tokens still is a great goods inline with this gambling sites. But fpr Europe to innovate in token can be a good opportunity for other services in gambling to execute a new payment style for betting. I guess they are now making plans to convert the token to their currency.

I don't think that's the reason. If the site has experienced the pressure of European legislation that he would have moved to another domain zone. There is probably a problem in something else. Perhaps the owners of the site have financial problems and they cannot afford to contain such a site.

And plus, all of these licenses and penalties are very expensive--enough to take a company down. Unikrn has been up since 2014 and I saw that you can also trade your skins for their token: https://unikoingold.com/skins

Thanks for sharing. I looked into this thinking it was like every other ico scam, but to my surprise it seems like a good choice. Strong team, millions of users on their platform, and probably the only licensed company(from my research). Looks like I'm going to be putting some eth in.

Question: are they planning on getting in on exchanges? I read somewhere that you're able to trade CSGO skins for the token. Where can I find that?

Those must be considered a done deal already and explaining on an article won’t change the fact that sooner or later they must adapt on the advancement of cryptocurrency.
Token/esports is widespread already and most gambling site has those options while the issueing a licences over are expected as more European countries are more open to innovation than any other country.

Many companies of this kind will be established in the future. The use of cryptocurrency as a medium on online gambling bypass some of the law which regulates use of fiat. This is one of the best thing that crypto currency has. This is just the start of the revolution for online gambling and expect more countries to release this kind of betting platform.

Been researching since yesterday-found the explanation video of how to exchange skins for unikoingold: https://twitter.com/UnikoinGold/status/919328642940973057Other findings: -they seem to hint at upcoming announcements especially on here in other threads -their reach is underestimated especially since they have big name backers and partnerships with companies/esports teams -malta license gives them an advantage -verified millions of users on their current platform unikrn Just from me researching, I can already see the power and incentive they have to make this work.

Esports i think already exist but it is just now that they integrated bitcoin as one of the currencies for betting. Because it would be easier to transfer bitcoin rather that fiat currency into the site. You must have your account verified if ever you don't have an online wallet. Esports are famous now adays especially to fans that doesnt wanna go out to bet their own money.
