You can used ofline PC to hold BTC with Bitcore wallet, This is a best way. But you can used Ledger wallet. Don't used app from third-party. But still mostly how you use the wallet.

Using hard wallets or paper wallets are the best. As far as I know you can send it to offline hdd basically just to store and use over usb. I still think that wallets like electrum are safe enough.

Since when is bitcoin an altcoin? You are in the wrong board. I can't believe that you are member of this forum since 2015. and you are asking this questions. Read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0It's all explained there.

the safest wallet is the offline wallet but there is still a risk that if the pc where you keep the offline wallet is destroyed then you can not do anything

i agree, so what you can do is to print the wallet on a old printer with no internet connexion and no memory, then you can still lose the paper, so there is no safe, there is always a risk

There are many ways to protect your bitcoin. the main protection is from Hackers. 1. Do not share your private Key of etherm wallet. 2. Do not Paste your Key in Google search. 3. Use etherscan.com to check your account and do not open ether wallet frequently by Pvt Key. 4. Always use private browsing so google will not record history. 5. Transfer your coins on Bittrex Wallet and use 2 way Authentication.
Good Luck.

maybe not storing in just one place you can be safe on that offline wallet may be the best but yet the risk is when it destroyed online wallet can risk to so you must analyze it where you must gonna do always check if your pc is good enough and always have a back up.

The best way to protect your crypto is hardware wallets like Ledger Nano S or Trezor. It has sence if you have pretty much amount of crypto. If not just use encrypted usb flash drive.

Some pretty solid advice above. There 3 main wallet types which are the safest, paper wallets, hardware walets and desktop wallets.
It is important to secure them with passwords, keya and Authentication. Also it is important to secure those passwords, etc. Safely and finally there should be a general practice of Security and to keep it in mind with everything we do.

I think it's a waste of money. Ledger is just a waste of money, because you can just use a flash drive. And protect it is not nearly as good.

The safest way is storing private keys in a flash drive which is encrypted. Ledger is a actually product which is sold in the market and it may have some vulnerabilities now or in the future.

What does myether wallet has to do with storing bitcoins, since the OP is looking for hardware solutions Ledger Nano S , KeepKey and Trezor are the popular hardware wallets in the market ,just check for other wallets too and take a decision, look for paper and offline wallet too since you are looking for the safest solution.

I recently heard about a good application that allows for better protection of the wallet. Unfortunately I can not remember the name. If someone uses, I have heard the information. How does it work?

Yeah that's why hardware wallet is the safest yet more secured from anything else. Try ledger nano or trezor, it's quite pricey but at least you're coins are all safe especially when you really have a lot. While using flash drive is also safe but there's a chance that it'll get corrupted.
