Hey guys today i have a special question.
i am HODLing 11 different coins right now including bitcoin...it that too much or should i spread even more?

My opinion is make a wide spread so your dont have that big loss. on the other hand also not that big win...

What do you think?

It's probably best to hold as many as possible to spread the risk. However, you should also follow news about all the coins to make good decisions, so the number is limited by the number of coins you can continuously follow.

most of my money is in 5 coins. I have also bought small amount of other coins which i dont even keep a track of. Too many coins makes it difficult to track your own portfolio.

I will rather hold multiple ICO based tokens than coins that are actively being traded right now because with good ICO token we can easily make over 10x within a year or less than that time.

I am currently holding more than 10 altcoin and 20+ tokens which I have bought during ICO.

I hold approximately 15 coins. I think 5-20 is suitable because market is growing very fast and this means many new investment opportunities. We should buy more different coins.

You should always spread your investment across different coins to limit your risk, but the amount you should hold depends on how many you believe in. Personally I hold about 6-8 coins for the most part, and then occasionally 1 or 2 others. You're right that you may miss out in the biggest gains by holding many coins, but in the long term you'll make more profit, unless you can predict with certainty which coins will succeed.

At the moment I only hold 5 different coins long-term. It depends on what you want, and what's your risk tolerance. If you want to invest heavily in a few coins then 5-6 should be just fine. If you want a moderate amount of coins, I would suggest anywhere from 8 to 15 coins. More than that would be difficult to follow constantly.

The whole point of diversification is to spread your risk, so on that strategy alone, you're doing well. However, it's important to identify two things. Your goals and the risk you're willing to take. Spreading out to 11 alts all worth 1 satoshi is not the same as spreading out to 11 alts based on market research, due diligence and profit goals.

Basket should always be heavier on the stable alts with long term potential, and lighter towards those riskier ones which might tank but might also bring short term big gains.

Hold as many coins as the number of projects you can follow. Don't just blindly follow the next hyped coin.

Hold as many as you can. But If you buy like for 10 dollar A coin, than beter you invest in 1.
It al depends on the amount of money you have.
Try to spread wisely. Read First about the coin

I only have 14 coins/tokens now because of my budgetary constraints.  I can easily increase it to 30 or more good coins/tokens if I have the funds.  For now, I prioritize based on what I know/believe.

Out of that 14, 3 coins dominate my portfolio and represent 80% of it.

Do not feel obliged to target a certain number of coins if you do not see that many you believe in.

I am only holding five different coins, only Ethereum, monero, digibyte, waves and zrx, and those are the only coins that i trust a lot, and this is the main reason of why i believe in its price, and that in they can go up by a lot of money by the end of the year, or maybe next year.
But i dont have much money invested in all them, not more than $2000 in those.
