From there statement regarding the segwit2x fork:
"Xapo’s policy in regards to forks is that, when there is a fork, we always follow the chain with the most accumulated difficulty and we make the minority chain available to our customers for them to sell or withdraw from Xapo. "

So, if someone changes the hardcoded rule about the limit of 21,000,000 btc max. it would be totally fine for XAPO as long as the new chain has the most hashrate.

This is why segwit2x is a serious threat to all cryptocurrencies.  We could no longer argue why some rules are irrevocable.

first of all you are making stuff up, nowhere anyone is talking about bitcoin cap of 21 million. stop spreading FUD.

secondly any service is free to choose any strategy they wish to choose as long as they are transparent about it, i don't see any problems with that.
you can read their stance and understand what they offer and if you don't like it, then don't use it. the third party services don't define bitcoin.

let me quote some parts:
Quote
Just like we did with the Bitcoin Cash fork,.....
.....Xapo’s policy in regards to forks is that, when there is a fork, we always follow the chain with the most accumulated difficulty and we make the minority chain available to our customers for them to sell or withdraw from Xapo.

XAPO is part of DCG, also known as Digital Currency Group, a group of corporations that are part of the segwit2x attack sponsored by US government. Tell everyone to not use Xapo ever again. They also threatened with listing segwit2x as the real Bitcoin:

https://blog.xapo.com/about-the-bitcoin-segwit2x-update/

Remember that they were part of the Bitcoin Classic attack too:

These terrorists must be stopped.

If the maximum supply of bitcoin reach 21,000,000 we will have decimals in each number.. it's written in the white paper wrote by Satoshi Nakamoto.

There is no mention at all of exceeding the cap of 21m btc, you're simply plucking that out of thin air based on something unrelated to the cap.

Was your account stolen? why don't you prove that you own the account? As a Legendary member I would be extremely pissed off at seeing some idiot posting big blocker propaganda with my hard earned Legendary status. Why don't you find any BTC address that you posted with your "ask" account and sign it? As an user that has been here for years and has thousands of posts im sure you can find one BTC address, sign a message and sent it to theymos or Cyrus and get your account back.

At what date did you lose the account? your points never seemed very bright tbh.

I wonder who's informing Xapo's decisions. 'Accumulated difficulty' is a borderline meaningless phrase and once again it's deferring to miners when they should be kissing our arses. I think this is the last roll of the dice for miners to cast themselves as authority figures. It's sad that they were ever permitted to get close to that status.

And as for the original point, if enough people want more than 21 million then they should have them. I really, really can't imagine the circumstances where that's desired though.

So it is possible to have an altcoin / fork which has a supply limit of more than 21 million. Why should that be a concern to anybody?
You are free to choose the fork of your choice as the original "Bitcoin".

I have not seen that flirted with XAPO bitcoin cash. They refuse to support the currency, and warned all their users to Dec move their coins to other wallets. If this is not done they forcibly will exchange these altcoins for bitcoin. I think that the same thing will happen to bitcoin gold. I use XAPO for a long time and I really like this service.
