Hi. I have a client that lives on another side of the planet, in Argentina. He pays for my work via Paypal but it's expensive for me because of each paypal transaction costs and because of converting currencies from Argentinian pesos to USD to EURO. I just lose money  Embarrassed. My client is not into bitcoins. How can i guide him to make him buy Bitcoins with Argentinian pesos (paying with credit card), in a way that he does it quickly and with no complications?

You could try to let him buy bitcoins through coinbase, but even then, he needs to verify his ID/passport, so if he already isn't interested, i think you're going to have a hard time with him buying it.

Even this is pretty complicated if you don't want to know how it works, and it surely isn't without complications.

Its going to be harder to convince someone specially if they do know bitcoin is going to be big in the next few years to come.  Same goes for someone who doesn't even know cryptocurrencies exist. For those who don't know anything about bitcoin, they would have to buy before they can give you salary which is something they prefer not doing. Why not just do it your self if you wanna own bitcoin.

Tell him future transactions that he can pay you in any way he likes but if it's in fiat, he needs to cover the fees. This way if he wants to pay Paypal, he can pay the fees. If he wants to do a bank deposit, he can pay the fees.

However, you're willing to pay the fees if he'll pay by Bitcoin.

Problem solved and you won't sound like you're being difficult.

If this post was useful, interesting or entertaining, then you've misunderstood.

Because i want to get paid in bitcoin to save paying Paypal's fees on each transaction.

The thing is that i am who pays the fees on paypal transactions, and i lose too much money with it. I can offer him some kind of discount for my services to motivate him to pay me with bitcoins.

Yet the difficult part will be to convince him to register with ID/Passport.  Undecided

No, you tell him that if he pays in fiat, he will pay fees.

Example: He wants to pay by Paypal - he will now have to pay the fees. So if your charge is for EUR100, he will pay EUR100 PLUS the fee.

The discounted way is if he pays you in Bitcoin.

Generally you don't need id or passport, if you buy bitcoin via localbitcoins.com or paxful.com. Check here: https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/argentina/ https://localbitcoins.net/country/AR https://www.ripio.com/es/comprar-bitcoins-argentina/

Advantages of bitcoin vs paypal: Lower fees, payment cannot be seized or delayed, no third party

There are many guides (search google or youtube) about how to buy bitcoin with different websites and how to setup a bitcoin wallet.

If accepting BTC can help you save in fees, maybe you would like to provide some incentive to your clients for paying you in Bitcoin. For example a discount or some extra services.

I wouldn't bother myself.

If you don't like paying fees, your employer certainly won't like paying the type of premium somewhere like Argentina attracts either. Your work paid in BTC will end up costing him a lot more. He'll probably look to employ someone who costs less.

Sometimes it's better not to get the rest of the world to bend to your Bitcoin will.

Hi there, I hope you find the answer your looking for.
I would suggest asking yourself a few questions to see which would be the best route to take?
First off how long have you been in business? how good is your rapport? if your client trusts you simply let them know that this would be mutually beneficially, it would reduce overhead for you and as stated before in this post make it cheaper for the both of you in the long run. On the other side of things if this is a new business relationship wait until that trust is there before making the suggestion. Do you want to try and push someone in a direction when your relationship is brand new, ? how profitable is the relationship for the both of you? Could the fees be worth it at first until that rapport is built that the trust is mutual. If I was paying you good money for services at that point I would already trust you, and would most certainly be open to suggestions making our relationship more profitable for the both of us.

Convince him to buy a bitcoin on coinbase and then he will understand that he can easily buy it and this make the employee happy like you will be.

Bitcoins are wildly popular in Argentina. Maybe, your client doesn't want to pay in btc because its better to HODL them than spend.

If that is not the case, then just tell him to signup and exchange and buy and send you bitcoins.

To add to my earlier point why are we in this all together for monetary gain (mostly) and to learn about something astounding that Is going to shape our future. TEACH him, nothing instills confidence more in something than knowing how to do it yourself. What is your time worth? are the fees your incurring on a regular basis worth your time as a professional to teach him? If not just like any project find what gives you the best Net Present Value, if you'd make more money handling the fees, if not take the time to help him understand. Find a tutorial (like the many on this website). Put something together that's simple to follow for beginners.  What is the growth rate of your book of business? Design something educate him, and potential future clients, this way when the time comes you're prepared to inform all of your clients on the benefits of this type of currency, ASAP!!!

You must tell him first all about what is bitcoin, what are thr benifits of using bitcoin, how bitcoin is easy to use, how famous is bitcoin in internet, you must tell him that while he is paying you in paypal, you dont get the salary you want and you need to change to the practical side which is bitcoin that pays lower taxes in exchanging than paypal.

If he/she doesn't want to go through the hassle of learning about bitcoin then creating a wallet then buying through exchanges to send them to you(as I don't think Coinbase supports Argentina correct me if I'm wrong), then just accept the PayPal funds, then transfer it to your bank, then use your bank funds to buy bitcoin. Simple. I don't think the PayPal fees are significant enough. I honestly wouldn't force my client to take time and learn about bitcoin for just enough knowledge on how to buy and send bitcoin safely and correctly if he/she really isn't interested.

Did you already tried to convince him before? If you tried and he didn't want it's because his mind is closed for new ideas (payment methods)... Be practical, just tell him: Via Paypal it's X+1, via Bitcoin it's X-1. It's not necessary to explain all the points of Bitcoin initially. Show the practice, explain the theory later.

Anyway, you won't have more profit by using Bitcoins as the price will decrease this way. It's advantage only for the buyer. But this way you can have many other customers attracted by your lower price... So this way you increase your personal profit.  Smiley

This would be so much easier for you if he was already using bitcoin. I think once more people start to see the ease of sending bitcoin like this example the more will use it. If he isn't interested then there isn't much you can do.
