If Bitcoin has the ability to remove the majority of power governments have over us, to the point where they could collapse, is open source governance an option to take its place? Thoughts?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Something like this, maybe?

Law enforcement, courts, and all other security services would be provided by privately funded competitors rather than through taxation, and money would be privately and competitively provided in an open market.

This opens the door for some interesting possibilities.

If it's used, we could see a shift towards issue-based politics.  Potentially, we could see something close to open-source legislation.  I don't think it will happen, or be allowed to happen.
