I too have the same doubt regarding bitcoingold hardfork. I have plans to buy bitcoin and would like to ask if electrum wallet is enough and if so do I need to do anything or keep calm until the hardfork happens.Actually I would like to know what is snapshot and all?

What is important is you know private key of the address you are holding your bitcoins in that. You can import it into a proper wallet whenever you want.

As long as you hold your bitcoin private keys then you are eligible to claim your shares. Best examples are; Electrum, MyCelium etc.

Just wait for more further and clear instructions on how to claim your BCG shares prior and after the fork because surely it will popped up everywhere.

If you have ownership of your private keys, then you are good to go. EX electrum wallet is fine!

Thats not true, they are working on replay protection as we speak so these things won't happen.
If you are worried, you can always send your BTC to another adress, and use your private keys from the now emptied wallet adress to receive your BTCG.

then you can access your bitcoin golds easyly. don't use web based wallets don't forget the safiest way is a cold wallet.

Blockchain.info supported bitcoin cash, so somehow it would support bitcoin gold too. Blockchain.info lets you hold your private key and as far as i know, your bitcoin's​ private key is the private key also of your bitcoin gold. you can always use cold storage options such as paper wallet!
the good news is that bitcoin gold is the same as bitcoin where it counts (keys) so you can easily use a secure tool which is tested and trusted like bitaddress.org and generate a random private key offline.

then simply convert your address to a BTG address.
you can use the bitcoin gold explorer to do that!

Yes there is no official wallet from Bitcoin gold, so I am saving my BTG in Bittrex site if you have an account in Bittrex you can save it here or else Binance is also safe site. I think Blockchain will list this coin very soon if it happens then we can store our coins in the blockchain.

For me Exodus wallet is the best choice. Easy to use an if you want to exchange your BTG for a range of other coins you can do it right there with no problems.
