Bitcoin breaks all time high and surges past $5,000

The all time high for Bitcoin will soon be over once the fork comes near. So for those who have a couple of money left, they should buy altcoins now because as the OP had said its on sale. Bitcoin really does proved itself that it can surpass anything, even with the recent dump because of the negative news from China it has still managed to even reach a new ath and all thanks to the coming fork as well.

I picked up an interesting article from Bloomberg. It's saying that there is a really close correlation between BTC and the price of Copper. It's in complete lock-step moving. I have looked and it has continued to trade like this since their chart, end of September. They think it is because of the amount of money that Chinese people speculate with. When they speculate they buy BTC AND Copper. Maybe it's true and maybe Copper could be a good indicator of BTC moves at the moment.

I am not even going to read such an article that contains such a retarded premise for a title.

Bitcoin has been around for 9 years and copper has been around for thousands of years.

Even if there might be some short term correlation between the two assests, that is most likely a distracting coincidence rather than really understanding the fundamental differences between the two markets.

In other words, get a fucking grip, if you think that bitcoin is fundamentally the same as copper in any kind of way, except perhaps that they may have some similar price movements, recently, then you are a fucking nut job.

For me, it was a surprise really. I was expecting bitcoin to be $4500 at maximum and then that Chinese drama had made the believed for me when prices again went down for $2900. But this $5600 is really mind-blowing. And for now, I am really waiting for bitcoin to just jump to $10k within next two or three months. I hope this may happen.

But this $5600 is really mind-blowing. And for now, I am really waiting for bitcoin to just jump to $10k within next two or three months. I hope this may happen.

Now price is over 5.600$ and I expected some new price records, just not so fast. On 10.000$ before new year was hard to believe couple months ago, now that is becoming very possible. I think after this year rise from 1.000$ to 3.000$ in just couple weeks I think bitcoin price will never surprise me like that again. Now I'm more prepared for sudden changes, and in price rise I don't doubt like before, I think I'm more optimistic then before. 10.000$ for now sounds good, and it would be great for that to happen this year, for next year we will have bigger plans.

I agree with every point that you make in terms of what seems probable in terms of higher end price movements has become more probable after we have achieved certain price levels.  In that regard, we need to consider these matters in terms of percentages of price movements rather than absolute numbers, and in that respect, absolute numbers become more achievable because with the price rises they become much more easily achievable to get to the next level.

So, yeah, an underlying theme to any price appreciation discussion and whether $10k is possible or any other higher number, we question the extent to which we might be in a bubble this time as compared with other exponential price growth periods, and surely the price rise this time has been a lot more dragged out (in the past two years) compared with prior exponential price rises of 2013 and previously.  But even if the slope has been more gradual and longer, at any time, we could convert into a temporary bear market that could last a couple of years.. that is if we run out of buy support--- which currently seem to be ongoingly strong.

These fairly significant corrections along the way of 20%, 30% or even 40% (which was the last one from $4980 to $2970) help to allow for buying support to catch up and for the exponential price growth to continue... cross your fingers regarding how long it can go and how far up it can go... Certainly, i don't mind corrections along the way that allow for somewhat of a more gradual slope to the extent that gradual slope might be sustainable.

I didn't expect the bitcoin will grow this much faster than other. Currently it reached to around ~$5500. Lets wait for hard fork on bitcoin gold birth. People are moving their alts to BTC since the expectation on growth is high

I am expecting it to reach $6000 at the end of this month as mostly the new coin will gain some investment initially but after the whales pump and dump it we would expect the money to flow back to main stream bitcoins as this is already happened with bitcoin cash (BCC) so i would be expecting the same thing here.
but there is a point where it will dip a little and i suppose it will go down to 4400 then will jump back.

This is not that much surprising because of the reason that it is just the beginning of a wonderful era of bitcoin. The way we are looking tremendous increase in the prices of bitcoin, I am very much hopeful that soon it will touch 10k$. The market price of bitcoin has already reached to the value of 6000$ and we are going to see some more good news in future.

This was never something that we ever doubted, although the last little surge to the current price is pretty nice.  We thought and knew that the price was coming back, but we did not see the bounce that just happened that clearly.  It is nice and will no doubt be the indicator that holds the rest of the year.  Next year is still a good year we are sure, but the rest of this year can be called no doubt in the bag for the BTC coin and the price.  Alt coins might get a burst, but the desire to hold BTC and not use it as much for trading is something that can hurt the other coins and only time will tell.

I was hoped that bitcoin will reach $ 5K by the end of this month but it was happened very earlier.Still it a very happy news for all the traders and for the people who getting their salary in BTC because it will increase decent amount of income.Like yiu said the new era of bitcoin begins like bitcoin gonna reach maximum level soon in the coming year.So don't sell your bitcoin just hold it to get extra profits.

This was never something that we ever doubted, although the last little surge to the current price is pretty nice.  We thought and knew that the price was coming back, but we did not see the bounce that just happened that clearly.  It is nice and will no doubt be the indicator that holds the rest of the year.  Next year is still a good year we are sure, but the rest of this year can be called no doubt in the bag for the BTC coin and the price.  Alt coins might get a burst, but the desire to hold BTC and not use it as much for trading is something that can hurt the other coins and only time will tell.

The community has spoken that we don't want to see the price of bitcoin getting lower than $5000. That's why it bounces tremendously and now its going up again at $5700. Its really an indication that people has learned to trust and love bitcoin that we won't allow it to go down. And yes, we should just hodl up until the end of the year because we are all positive that the price will at least make it to 5 digits. We don't need to doubt bitcoin because it just shows us that no matter what other people think(bankers???), it is still a safe haven for most of us. And that what makes bitcoin stronger as ever.

It is currently now at 5600$+ I think we are going to hit 6000$ thin month, Bitcoin is going to set a new high record. We are having many new investors I guess, Many new faces are coming towards Bitcoin and adopting it. I think China has no impact on the price of Bitcoins?

What does it feel to have your wish granted, bitcoin is now above 6000 dollars and now it has a market cap above 100 billion so we reached two milestones in the same day, besides we still have a few days before the fork so I think there is still potential for the price to go higher.
