Hello!

What do you think? when Ethereum will switch to POS?

What will happen to the price then? Maybe a hard fork will happen and there will still be people who will be able to mine?

Since Ethereum has the mining difficulty to increase over time there will be no need for a hard fork in order to change Ethereum from PoW to PoS. I’m gonna guess that it will probably be a few years until we see PoS in Ethereum, as there does not seem to be any talk of it; although I am really no expert here.

I am asking because I am still mining but I am keeping my Ethereum because of possible POS. I mean that the future rewards will be given according to how many coins you have in your wallet and that is why I am keeping them. Am just not sure how will they reward me.

I guess full PoS will be introduced in around half a year. Current hardfork suggests both PoW + PoS scheme.

Do you have any idea about how will I be rewarded in the POS case after the hard fork?

The next update ongoing for ethereum is Metropolis.
It's pushing miners to abandon the old version of eth, because the difficulty becomes higher and the rentability lower. So the miners will naturaly switch on the new version of ETH, unlike this shity bitcoin where you'll see every months a useless hardfork splitting money and crashing the price of every altcoins out there.
So in a summary, POS is comming by itself naturally step by step.

Just like you would be compensated on any other PoS based coin, when Ethereum goes PoS you will receive dividends while staking from miner fees and any new coins created. If you’d like to read up more on PoS you could check out the Bitcoin Wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Proof_of_Stake

I do not think that it is going to rise up.

It is most likely going to fall down more.

If you follow Vitalik on twitter you can think PoS will happen lately on 2018. Vitalik is focusing on PoS more day by day.
An i think this is a good think for Ethereum prices.
