What would be the current cheapest best way to store like 0.10BTC at a time.

Looking for the cheapest way and it doesn't have to be collectible, just something easy for me to load and unload if needed or possibly for long term storage.

What few bitcoin coins I do have left I actually buried along with a few other things before hurricane Irma came through. The buried container did surprisingly well and survived.

Any current suggestions would be great.

Thanks

I am afraid of printing my own, I don't want to make a mistake or print it on the wrong paper or use the wrong ink and have ot fade or something.

Everyone is ok even all the stray cats. Lots of tree damage and some roof damage but could have been worse.

I think laminated paper wallets are fine.  Make multiple copies.  Store securely in multiple places

Get a cheap laser printer and a laminator machine.  Laser prints on standard paper will last for several decades without issue. The laminator will protect it from moisture and make it last thousands of years.  You can get both for less than $100.  Then run a USB stick pre-loaded with Linux on an old computer, running bitaddress.org as Owlcatz has pointed out.

BG4 is as good as anyone for making paper wallets, but there's no peace of mind like generating the keys yourself.  For your long term cold storage, don't half ass it.

Have to agree with BG4 and others in saying - paper wallet!

Now, if you do not want to make your own, you could check out the Piper Wallet - which is an all-in-one generator and printer, although this product is discontinued and no longer has support.

Also, there's OpenDime, which for ~$15 is a pretty good deal and very secure.

And finally, shameless self-plug for my product - Crypto Greeting Cards! Which are certainly not intended to store Bitcoin offline for long periods of time. Though there is nothing stopping you as this is virtually the same as a pre-generated paper wallet. This is more of a temporary storage intended for gift transfer, but does come in at a very reasonable $5.99.

---

Personally I would recommend OpenDime for storing Bitcoin offline in a super easy and secure way.

There is an alternative.....

Implantable NFC tag...    Carry it with you any where you go.  Usually under the skin
Between your thump and index finger,. On you hand..

The NFC tags of today can carry 888 bytes and even more
More then enough room to store private keys ,. Or passwords for an HD wallet

The key here is redundancy, creating your own offline storage gives you the ability to make multiple copies.
You can e.g. have 1 printed version and one (or more) stored on a digital medium such as USB stick, HD etc. (sealed in a box so it would not accidental go online).
The chances of total failure is the multiple of the chance for failure for each medium.

Another issue which I am currently considering myself, due to the increase in BTC value this year is physical security, theft, natural disaster, fire etc.
These risk can definitely be mitigated with strong encryption and multiple copies of private key located at different locations.

I remember long time ago a bitcoin uploaded his wallet.dat to a online server for everyone to freely download, protected only by the core encryption.
I am not that brave my self, but keeping your bitcoins in the sky with strong encryption is definitely an approach worth considering, of cause no need to be as "open" as the individual mentioned.
Nevertheless if going down the encryption path of securing your bitcoins, password management suddenly become a real issue, since encryption strength is correlated with password complexity,
and the more complex a password is the higher is the chance that you forget it.

Cryptography is one of the few things you can truly trust.

Get a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor. They don't cost that much and offer easy security.

An alternative to laminated paper where only the laser printer is needed: https://terraslatepaper.com/
They advise this paper in the Glacier Protocol : https://glacierprotocol.org/

Also, for long term backup of hardware wallet seeds, I like the Cryptosteel: https://cryptosteel.com/
Not cheap, though, it won't be suited to store 0.1 BTC...

I am upgrading my original laminated paper wallet comment..

If you used Teslin  and a laser printer for paper wallets and then laminated that...
Teslin is some durable stuff, and looks really good when printed on..

You would have pretty good weather/water proof  cold storage..I would think.
