The way I understood it, someone buys the 'bomb'. Then, the next person can choose to buy the 'bomb' at a higher price, paying off the first buyer AND the website owner. This goes on a couple of times, until nobody wants to buy the bomb anymore. The last person to have bought it loses all his money. Everybody else wins.

Like any other form of gambling it could be fun if you set a limit and don't bet more than you can afford to lose.
