One cannot predict life of bitcoin. By looking at its current volume and pace of growth it seems quiet difficult to stop this currency.
Many currencies, monitory tools are controlled by banks, they impose sections cut or increases interest rates as per their needs, that is why there is always need of decentralized currencies like bitcoin.
Though one of the largest bitcoin company Bitreserve claimed in 2015 that bitcoin will not be there after five years.
Bitcoin will change its current format or mode of working in future but such popular concept will not disappear,
it will disappear with disappearance of electricity and internet only.

If the magnetic poles invert, BTC might take a hit. But if the poles invert, we're also gonna have bigger problems than that.  we should be safe for a few thousands years but you never know...(doomsday mode on  ) |

I think Bitcoin will exist for life time. Without Bitcoin all alt. Will be destroyed. Bitcointalk is for discussion about Bitcoin. Without Bitcoin, btalk has no value
Bitcoin may exists for next 10 years , but country specific may changes as if the country has banned it for those country residents btc has not values even if it exists . So for them it does not exists. But in the world I think should be there for next 10 years and since technology changes so something may come up which could be more useful at that time. |

i think it will last for more years, may be more than 50 years or more. because we are in modern world now. bitcoin is the beginning of it, so it will last more than 50 years from now. im hoping that maybe someday bitcoin will be accepted to all country for more convinient to us to use bitcoin to transact, send,make a pay all over the world.

I wanna know how many years bitcoin can exist, because what if i invest a big amount and the bitcoin will go to shutdown or going to close a blockchain system. This is my concern.
bit coin can exist life long. bit coin is nothing but currency so how can it dissapear. now mostly people try to buying bit coins for their needs. so bit coin has great demand to day. suppose with normal money we have to purchase and invest in something in business like that bit coins also we have to invest like that. really it is good investment to earn profit. bit coin usage increases then it's life time also increases maximum bit coin not dissapear. |

If bitcoin has been is existence for over 8 year now, and has been surviving and is still surviving, then there should be no reason why the fear of it crashing or it's shutdown should come now. If you are too scared of its shutdown, then invest into it as little as you can.

I'm no expert but the articles I've read on quantum computing raise some hairs...but most of them say that's 10 if not 20 years from now, before it might be feasible to have a major effect. |

Bitcoin will only shutdown if theres no internet. Every bitcoin transaction needs an internet connection, i will say that bitcoin life is the internet connection.

bitcoin existing has no end. because bitcoin our new currency that exist in this world and more people accept this bitcoin, so it will last until more many years or may adapted for more than a 100 years while waiting to implement in whole wide world to be use of us. |

It won't go anywhere unless the miner count goes to zero (very very unlikely), or an electromagnetic pulse(EMP) happens, damaging most if not all electronics along with internet connections. I honestly don't know much about it but I think it's very unlikely. I really think that bitcoin is the future, cryptocurrency will eventually replace the money as we know today.
Probably true, but that doesn't answer OP's question. In my opinion it will be exist at least 6-10+ years 6-10+ years only? Why do you think that? |

Bitcoin has been going on since the early 2000s, it’s just that it’s not that popular wayback. If it survived until now. I doubt that it’ll be gone in the future. |

The finish of mining is planned for 2040 and the bitcoin itself will probably last until people are using the internet as it was here and it will probably end here with a bitcoin life. |

For me Bitcoin will exist long enough not to be mentioned, the value will only fall for a while which it normally do sometimes, and will still rise again.
