Hello guys. I just recently got into the bitcoin world and also found out only now about this great and huge community. I have a newbie question for you, perhaps you could help in any way.

1. How you all work in this crypto world? Are you miner, trader or something i dont know before ? How is it going?
Hope i can be at your position now Smiley

2. Telling about research on coin or altcoin like in ICO or not, how you make it on research ? What kind information do you search or trying to found ?

Feels free to share your opinion here. Hope you'll have a great day always  Cool

I am a trader personally. I buy ICO tokens.

For me, the most important thing in a project, apart of the project concept itself of course, is the team. It takes a good team to make an ICO successful, so I always check the background and the profiles of all the team members.

I'm a small time bitcoin(or cryptocurrencies in general) investor and long term trader. Also, I'm currently a member of a signature campaign here in bitcointalk, which definitely helps me financially. How am I doing? Very good! Bitcoin is currently on it's all-time-high at $5745.86. Can't be any happier today.

2. Telling about research on coin or altcoin like in ICO or not, how you make it on research ? What kind information do you search or trying to found ?

Just read the whitepaper. Think for yourself if the project actually makes sense and is going to be useful in present and in the future.

There are multiple posts here in the forums about what to look for in an ICO or in an altcoin for you to decide to invest or not.

I'm also a trader, it's okay, but don't expect too much.

To improve my profits I take part in airdrops.
Most of them aren't wort some cents, but some are really nice to have!

Look for the team! If something seems to be suspicious, stay away! (There will always be an ico better than that!)

Don't get involved with anything starting with a lower case 'e' - eDASH/eBTC/eDOGE etc etc..

Just start reading and learning - mine some coins if you can and learn how to set up mining software to do this. Or buy some really cheap coins on an exchange like Bittrex for example - you buy bitcoin 1st then exchange what you have for some altcoins and this allows you to build a portfolio.

This is very basic but gets your hands dirty if your indeed a noob.

Best of luck.

All people here are different some of them are bitcoin traders, some are miners and some of them are investors. The only thing that is common to them is that they main goal is to collect many bitcoins! You can found some information bout a coin in bitcoin discussion thread and altcoin discussion thread.

What about.. eTHEREUM? *badum tss*

Jokes aside, just to add to what midvoc said, OP make sure that you're getting the right mining software at the right place. Don't just Google something like "fast and easy bitcoin mining program" or something along those lines as you may end up clicking a scammy Google advertisement. Also, don't expect to make much with mining especially if you don't have ASIC miners. Go mine for a while just to have a grasp on how transactions or mining in general works.

I have been a miner and trader since 2013.  Although as time goes on, I am mining less and less.  Trading is where the money is.  Mining is not really about making money as it is about having fun and trying to break even.

As for what to research.  Read what the coins goal is and if they have a business case/business blueprint.  Should all be listed in the white pages.  I have seen to many coins created with nothing more than a developer saying, I created this coin to purchase a niche market item.  They don't have a business plan, don't have any really push to market their coin to actually be used to purchased whatever they said they made the coin for.  Why anyone would buy and back these types of coins is beyond me.  Even if they did manage to take off, I can't see wanting to go buy groceries and need a separate wallet and coins for the Corn, the Bread and the Bacon.

Other coins have nothing going for them than a meme or are made as jokes.  Think Doge coin ect.  These can become really popular, but after the joke wears off, they are kind of thin.

There are many coins out there, such as Academy Coin ( I am biased with that one, since I am part of the team), or coins like Sia Coin, where the developers actually have a business model and a well structured time line in their white papers and these companies should stand out from others when you look into them.   I am not telling you to buy Academy Coin or Sia Coin, just to look up the white paper so you can see the types of things you should look for in terms of finding a coin to invest in.
