Hi,

So I basically recently installed Electrum 2.9.3 wallet and send an amount from a Multibit wallet however the transaction amount (which is the only transaction I have made to the wallet) is being displayed as less than the overall balance displayed in the bottow left corner of the app.

Where would I start trying to recitify this?

Is it a BTC vs mBTC display units issue?? By default, Electrum displays mBTC units (milli BTC)...

Try: Tools -> Preferences -> Appearance

And set the "Base Unit" to BTC... see if that makes everything "look right" Wink

NOTE: due to a weird little bug, you might need to shut down the preferences dialog after setting changing from mBTC to BTC, before you are able to increase the number of decimal places to 8. I prefer 8 as it shows it all the way to the last satoshi Wink

No, the transaction amount is not a decimal issue, the one transaction I made to the wallet displays the USD amount as 2254.00 and the overall balance in the bottom right hand corner shows the USD amount as 2963.00.  I have not made any other transactions to or from this wallet besides the one I mentioned above.

Ahhhh OK... I understand now... you have the "Show History Rates" box ticked on the "Tools -> Preferences -> Fiat" window don't you?

This does exactly what it says... it shows the "Historical" rate for each individual transaction... ie. what that amount of bitcoin was worth when it was sent! The fiat value for the overall balance, shows you what the total value of your wallet balance is worth NOW.

If you had a 1 BTC transaction from Dec 2011, you'd see it was worth like $2... even though the total balance today would show $5800+ Wink
