How to send Bitcoin to an email address

I want to send Bitcoin in the same way PayPal works, to an email address. How can I do it? I tried to and it says "invalid address".

I don't think that exists yet. Someone would have to create software that links an e-mailaddress with a bitcoin address, but under the hood it would still be a bitcoin address to bitcoin address transaction.

i think both of you, sender and receiver must have xapo wallet and send bitcoins via xapo. i was using xapo several years ago, and from faucets i was receiving satoshis using email, not btc address.

Bitcoin has nothing to do with email and of course you can't send coins to an email address. Bitcoin is fully decentralized and associating Bitcoin addresses with email addresses would require some form of centralization (which would create a security and privacy risk and completely defeat the purpose and all the benefits of Bitcoin technology in the first place).

So to answer your question, Bitcoin is not PayPal, they are completely on different sides of a spectrum. If you want to have such a feature, you will have to use some centralized service, like someone's website, and fully trust them with those bitcoin's.

Send an email, ask for their Bitcoin address, send the Bitcoins there. That's how Bitcoin works.

some bitcoin wallets supports sending bitcoins via emails like xapo. although most and majority of them are not. so i guess you should try to use xapo wallet if you prefered to use that kind of feauture. and maybe some skilled developers can do that or they can create a third party software just like how paypal works to enable bitcoin address to work as an email adrress.

There must be a combination between both email address and bitcoin address so that you can send / recieve bitcoin using email. I think currently there is no such services .

You could look at some of the invoicing software out there that supports bitcoin.
Pretty sure InvoiceNinja has an addon for this.

Then you just connect your wallet and send people an invoice to their email, then they send it through invoice ninja's platform and deposits it into your wallet.

There is some fee's associated with this I'm sure.

Yes, exactly that. You could generate an address plus private key on bitaddress.org, send needed amount to this address and then send it (including private key) via email.

It is important to note that if the email is not encrypted, sending the private key through email is not secure.

We have a local app that provides this service and this app is coins.ph. You can use the app to send bitcoins by using your recepient's phone number, email address or even facebook account aside from sending directly to its bitcoin address AS LONG AS your recepient is also a coins.ph user and at the same time, those phone numbers, email address & facebook account are verified and connected to the user's coins.ph account. So we can say it's more on internal transactions. Maybe this is what ann2230 is looking.

As far as I know is that Blockchain supported to send Bitcoin to an email address or even to a phone number in the early days. With the second version of the Wallet, they removed this feature along with other great security features. Nowadays, only Coinbase supports to send Bitcoins to an e-mail address in case the e-mail belongs to an account there.
