Jamie Dimon says he's not going to talk about bitcoin anymorePublished 8:27 AM ET Thu, 12 Oct 2017Jamie Dimon, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, says he's "not going to talk about bitcoin anymore." In September, Dimon called bitcoin a "fraud," while other major Wall Street executives have taken a more favorable or nuanced view of digital currencies. JPMorgan is already involved in some blockchain projects, primarily related to digital currency network ethereum. Source:https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/12/jamie-dimon-says-hes-not-going-to-talk-about-bitcoin-anymore.htmlJamie Dimon says people who buy bitcoin are 'stupid' Published 8:27 AM ET Thu, 13 Oct 2017JPMorgan Chase Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon can't stop talking about bitcoin. "If you're stupid enough to buy it, you'll pay the price for it one day," Dimon said in response to a moderator question at an Institute of International Finance conference Friday. The CEO said he could care less about what bitcoin trades at. "The only value of bitcoin is what the other guy'll pay for it," Dimon said. "Honestly I think a lot of the buyers out there are out there jazzing it up every day so you'll buy it too, and take them out." Bitcoin hit a record high Friday above $5,800, up more than six times in price for the year. On Thursday, Dimon said during a post-earnings conference call with media that he's "not going to talk about bitcoin anymore." The executive called bitcoin a "fraud" in September and said it "won't end well." Dimon did add on Friday that he believed the blockchain technology behind bitcoin was valid, but he does not understand the value of "non-fiat" digital coins, that is, digital currencies which are not backed by a government. "Who cares about bitcoin? The world economy is so big," Dimon said, noting the bank moves about $6 trillion in money around the world every day. In comparison, bitcoin only has a market capitalization of less than $100 billion. "This is the last time I'm going to answer any questions about bitcoin, because I really don't care," Dimon added. "When I made that 'stupid statement' [calling bitcoin a] fraud, my daughter sent me an email saying, 'Dad, I own two bitcoins,'" Dimon then joked, "My formerly smart daughter." Yes, multiply the investment by over than 6x over a year is stupid.
But we need people like him, so the rise will be slower and the odds of a bubble forming will be lower. More time to accumulate

Let him think about anyone at all interested in his opinion. May be he will not speak because his opinion does not interest anyone? Under the rolling stone gathers no moss. If I didn't take long bitcoin it would not earn big money for me. Even if tomorrow bitcoin will disappear that I have earned and I thank him for that always. The opinion of experts I'm not interested.

Hello author! I am agree with all of you and I think that difference people have differing opinions. One group say I don't like bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general! Another group say that Criptocurrensy its a new era of our life. Here you cannot be sure in nothing and better don't listen to nobody and make your own conclusions about any fields and areas in our life and no matter what says Morgan or Trump you need have your own positions!

Just let him be like that, that is his own view. We need FUD as we can take advantage of it. Also he just give a statement because he was being asked. That's his opinion so be it as everyone is entitled to have one. Honestly we don't know what's really on his mind and possibility that he is also considering putting up his assets on bitcoin is possible even by low chances. We never know.

I think he decided to stop to talk about bitcoin due to many people jumped on him with critic about his words about bitcoin meanwhile JP Morgan was investing in bitcoin. Many people saw in it a double game, cause of Diamon's words about bitcoin is fraud were as an addition reason of bitcoin fall after news from China.

I don't care about what people say, I just believe something that has been proven and I think so far bitcoin has given me proof not just wishful thinking. and that is the reason why I decide to choose it and invest my money to bitcoin, I will never hear the words of those who say they are the most correct. if they have their own opinions then I also have different views with them.

But i am sure that those people who are not giving importance to bitcoin they will regret in future. because bitcoin is the need of the day and when they will understand and realize the importance of bitcoin they will surely resume their decision and will accept bitcoin then. In fact those people who know about the importance of bitcoin they never like to quit using or holding bitcoin but they are trying to increase their investment more and more.

But we need him in the market, he is giving blood to the altcoin market, look at all those altcoins, they all are falling right now, but it looks like bitcoin is only increasing, lol.

Well, if he is that dedicated to saying that Bitcoin is a fraud or a meme, especially when his company bought into it based on some presumably real screenshots related to recently acquired assets.
At this point I don't really care what is going on with this dude since there is nothing that can be done about whatever he's saying beyond ignoring him, but it seems highly suspect that JP Morgan would be involved in a Bitcoin-related company and then turn around and say that the entire thing is set to fail. I'll assume this is some kind of scheme to pick up more value from whatever he can manipulate the market with, and he'll be involved again in the future. Or he's trying to set popular opinion against Bitcoin so anything that ""happens"" to it will be viewed without surprise.

Not our problem, and we couldn't care less as well. As long as he still leaves negative remarks about bitcoin, it will be another buying opportunity for us since most people buy whatever this banker said. Also, bitcoin would still flourish without these bankers' support; heck, bitcoin thrived even with the absence of its creator, what more if there's less shitty persons around, right?

People have different opinion about bitcoin and Dimon's statement was fair good I think... but bitcoin os just ankther way of currency and other way to invest especially now as the price was so high... buying it I dont do that becuse there are some ways to earn it free.... buying it for now is pain in the ass
good for her daughter that has coins in her side .. maybe 1 day bitcoin will lose its price but for now lets cherish its success for now

from the article:
"When I made that 'stupid statement' [calling bitcoin a] fraud, my daughter sent me an email saying, 'Dad, I own two bitcoins,'" Dimon then joked, "My formerly smart daughter."
What the hell is wrong with this guy? but seriously, at this point, asking Jamie Dimon his opinion on Bitcoin is like asking a cab driver his opinion on Uber. In the next decade, or two, when bitcoin exceeds JP morgan, seeing this guy's face while he watches how his empire crumbles and cryptocurrency becomes the main form of currency worldwide, priceless.
