I bought them back in 2014 and then it was difficult to buy them, as far as I know there were only two platforms which wore selling them. one of them virwox aand there was other one that I can't remember. I think Mt Gox might have been big around 2014. There was also coinbase if I'm remembering correctly. BTC-E was another exchange. Both Mt Gox and BTC-E are dead now although I've heard claims that BTC-E accounts have been reimbursed to a fraction of their account value.

There are lots of platforms around then that are still around today.
How did you pay? If it was bank transfer that'll throw up very different options compared to Paypal or a card.

There were lots of exchanges available in 2014. Some are defunct at this point. It might help if you can answer a couple questions. What country do/did you reside in? And do you remember the payment method -- ACH, bank wire, Paypal? Virwox was always pretty obscure. The most prominent exchanges at that time for BTCUSD markets were MT Gox (defunct early 2014), Bitstamp, Bitfinex, BTC-E (defunct mid-2017). If you had money on BTC-E, they did relaunch as WEX.nz and repaid 55-60% of customer funds. However, if you haven't logged into your account in three years, you're going to have a lot of trouble accessing those funds.

The best chance you got is to search through your emails from 2014 to see which exchanges you have registered with. Look through them and then log into all the accounts and check your balances. Hopefully your bitcoins are still in an exchange that is still around today. Request for a new password if you forgot your login information.

Yup your email is the only way. If you cant search with the keyword bitcoin, then scroll back to 2014 and manually check your emails, remember 2btc is a huge money. I also think its the bast way to check your mail adress, you can also check your bank account and maybe figure out the real money transaction you made back in 2014. The descriprion of the bank transaction may include the name of the exhance platform.

poloniex was around then. Check your email. They all required email back then. Coinbase was pretty much the only entry point US people trusted. I would guess Coinbase has them.

the best you can do is checking your email, i mean all of your email because maybe it was slip on one of your email so you can not found. i think in 2014, there is many exchanges is online but not many exchanges like today. don't forget when you search in your email, use the search function to make your searching going to go fast and smooth and i hope you can found the right exchanges and the best is you can login into your account and you can get your bitcoin back.

Now and then every buy/sell you made is verified with email link. Try to find it somewhere, even if you delete one from good or yahoo or outlook you will have it in trash. If you using some other mail that is attach to your service internet that you pay ask from then lis of all your email from 2014, they have to have this.
Dont think that you will have luck if you dont know what email address was used.

It is true. Platform is very much, but hard to find the one that is most suitable for us. How many people have this opinion so I think you should try yourself and decide on the best one.
