We understand how someone would believe this. However, Africa has smartphones, and Africa has currency problems. There is a demand for something that can protect value for Africans when faced with aggressive government monetary policies created to steal value. The fact that Africans use mostly smartphones and cellphones is not so much a limitation, but it's an important fact when deciding which type of cryptocurrency would best suit that target group. This is why we agree with you that POS/DAG is a good solution for this problem.

We have already disclosed the core code contributors in the interest of transparency. You can find them in the original post.

I have a soft spot for DAGs. Missed the original IOTA sale so I'll be entering this one. Good luck to the team!

While I doubt you'll make a dent in the African political and monetary system (at least in the short term), I do support the existence of alternatives, and bitcoin's slow transaction times or IOTA's centralization isn't gonna cut it PS: if AFRI does catch on, should we start saying "To the Craddle!" instead of "To the Moon!"? get it? Africa, the craddle of humanity?

Awesome project, but why is the crowdsale lasting such a long time (3 months)?
This decision was chosen in order to give enough time for people to read about the currency here and to participate. While we would have preferred to hold a year long crowdsale like EOS, we also would like to start building AFRI in other ways through the bounty system beforehand, and the bounty system is funded by the crowdsale. So 3 months seemed like a good compromise to us.

If the wallet is not released yet ("The wallet is not released yet, it the alpha wil be released in our Github repo on the 30th of November.") so when the tokens from 1st phase of sale that is ending on 20th November will be distributed?
"1st Phase of the crowdsale is now live
Specifics: 14th October 19:00 UTC - November 20th 19:00 UTC | Total Afri: 800 000 000 | Rate: 1 Afri = 0.0001 USD (cryptocurrency equivalent*)."

The Afri from the first phase of the crowdsale is claimable once the wallet is released. Since the Afri is only claimable automatically in the wallet, and useable in the wallet, there is no other way to send users their Afri. Given that we are confident in our ability to finish the code in that timeline, this will not be an issue. However, we have not excluded the possibility that there can always be unforeseen problems with the code (critical bugs that can affect the network), and we have discussed what to do if the wallet release needs postponing, in order to protect users' Afri. If such event occurrs, we will create an ERC20 token to distribute manually to users while we finish the wallet release. This ERC20 token could be added to exchanges and traded publicly while the wallet development is finished, and once the wallet is completed users could then exchange the ERC20 Afri token for the real DAG/PoS based Afri coin directly in the wallet. So basically: we are working on finishing the wallet in time, but we have a backup plan should there be any problems.

If i understand correct, if everything will be ok wallet will be released 30th of November and in this same moment coins from phase 1 of crowdsale will be distributed. If something with wallet will be wrong at 30th of November you will distribute token? Right?
