There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

For me, security is Paramount here. Also, you need to check with your current bitcoin wallet (that has been favouring you) to know if it will be supporting the forthcoming fork. If no, please, stick with your  wallet and hold on to the bitcoin you have dearly because a lot of scammers are searching earnestly to use this as a means to steal people's hard earned bitcoins. But you can make findings of a trusted bitcoin wallet to transfer your bitcoins to; I will also advise you do in a small bit too. In all, be careful not to lose all your bitcoins in a bid to get the bitcoin gold, so you don't end up being F**KED.

Since I live my coins in the blockchain.info wallet at last hardfork and I was giving free bitcoin I will do the same again this time around to also get free coins. Bitcoin network will ever remain and no matter the hardfork in blockchain network bitcoin is going to remain strong and notting is going to  affect it. I do believe that the hardfork make us stronger than were we are before it just like what happened last time. I will also advise those weak mind to remove there coins from exchangers and keep them in offline wallet.

why you move it ,, it does not need to be done, everything will be fine. november forks will have a positive impact on bitcoin .. so you don't have to move your bitcoin. all will be safe, and bitcoin prices will soar.

There's no use in moving your coins because the fork will not do anything on it like what happen in bitcoin cash keeping your bitcoin in your wallet will not harm them in fact the last time I was able to receieve equivalent amount in bitcoin cash after keeping some bitcoin in my present wallet.

I don't think we are restricted of moving our coins before the fork happens however once fork is here then for sure we are not allowed to move them because of the fork thats happening. Why would you mive your coins anyway if it is secured in a wallet right?

Yes i also expect so that even keeping our bitcoin in wallet will not effect our bitcoin, as some people are still confuse about not to lose their bitcoin if they are in exchange wallet, but hopefully nothing such thing is going to happen. I am sure that just like previous time as we were awarded with bitcoin cash, now we are also expecting to get bitcoin Gold, which will also be trading in a good value.

You are a legendary forum member and you are asking ,i would say,a "newbie" question?Wow,this is strange.
The most important question here is which wallets and exchange platforms will support the forked altcoin called "Bitcoin Gold".I remember that during the previous forks some exchange platforms were limiting deposits and withdrawals. This might happen again.

The fork on august have some restriction on transfering and moving bitcoin. They gave a time span in where you cannot move your bitcoin or move your bitcoin in your wallet as they are updating the codes of it. Maybe that's what the OP want to ask as the last fork was having some restriction on moving your bitcoin.

Yes you move your coins before and after the hardfork happens. It is just that you need to keep bitcoins in your wallet on the day of hardfork thats it and you will have new coins with you.

personally, if i want to move my bitcoin, i will do it right now because i don't know what will happen to my bitcoin although i know it will be safe but i think its better to now. we don't want our bitcoin to not be safe so we need to secure it by our own way but if we can do now, then we should do as fast as we can. its not related with the new fork or not, but we take responsibility to our bitcoin and if we are afraid with the fork, then we should move before the fork is happen and we are safe.

Yes, you can move it and the best wallet for it is through electrum. There are some supported wallets that are indicated in the btcgpu.org but they are now being DDOS attacked.

and after?

Just keep it there and wait for the hard fork to finish.

There's no risk on it and it's totally a free coin so while you are just watching or waiting for the hard fork to be done make sure that the wallet you will be keeping your bitcoins, you have the private keys for exporting / importing purposes.

It is possible. You can move bitcoin before the fork. No one is sure how bitcoin will react about the upcoming fork on October 25. You can move it to a secure location of you can gamble and maintain it on your wallet. I hear that you will obtain bitcoin gold if you do maintain your bitcoin on your wallet. I certainly hope that bitcoin will increase in value but even if its value goes down on the upcoming fork I will buy even more bitcoin because It means that I can buy many if its value goes down. If its value went up its okay too because I can sell it for a higher price.

Yes you have all rights on your bitcoin you can move it whenever you want. Market impact doesn't matter. I suggest you to keep your bitcoin until the fork finish also there's no chance to for risk,  its free coins Bitcoin gold which you will get, if you keep bitcoin in your wallet.

Probably users who have been holding a large volume of bitcoin feels lucky to get the best of btc. This time it is bitcoin gold, which is gonna get listed to the altcoins section, same as that we got bitcoin cash from the main chain and holding certain volume of bitcoin.

I recommend that you keep your bitcoin in your private wallet during the fork. If you are leaving your btc in an exchange they should inform you about how they will act during the fork. Take precautions so you don't end up like the users of coinbase that did not get bcc during the first fork.

You have all rights to move your bitcoins. Of course you can move your bitcoin anytime anywhere. There's no limit for bitcoins.  About the fork it will not stay forever we all are ready to face it. It will end one day but remember if you do not move your bitcoin from the wallet, you can get free Bitcoin gold coin. So I think wise people are not cashing out bitcoins. They are buying more to gather more bitcoins so when fork happens they will be able to gather more free Swegit2 Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin gold coin was based on a snapshot two months ago and you can still get the coins even if you have since sold all your BTC coins
based on your balance on the day of the fork so i would expect that the revised Segwit2x fork taking place tomorrow to be just the same.

"Wise" people will not put up with slow speeds and mega high transactions fees regardless of the perks they receive along the
way and trust with the greedy miners has been broken so i suspect a lot of people will start voting with there feet myself.

Mining is CPU-wars and Intel, AMD like it nearly as much as big oil likes miners wasting electricity. Is this what mankind has come too.
