This is perhaps a dumb question but I am wondering, how much ether gas is required for a token transaction? I am wondering in relation with all the e coins. I am assuming they would need a certain amount of ether to conduct all these airdrops.

Yes.. You are right, every coin transaction using etherium platform must use gas, if there is no gas we can not do transaction. I think the airdrop developers also spend a lot of eth to buy the gas they use for their coin distribution.

I was kinda hoping someone can estimate how much ether they need for these airdrops. It has got to be a whole lot of ether.

As I know it depends from token to token. Some tokens eat really high gas right after release and they return to normal levels after. I think you can safely ask one airdrop manager about it.

If I am not mistaken you need 21000 gas atleast and sometimes up to 100k or even more gas. It really depends on the contract and how it was constructed.

It also depends on the gas price you set

You might be putted your gas to the token transfer between 150000 - 200000 gas for each transaction. there is no relation to the ecoins. Ecoins just same with other altcoin.

This is true! This week I had problems at even 80000 gas txns.

Maybe 0.005 = 0.17$ on deposite , withdraw or other , the default gas is 7 , you can set 10 for fast transaction but its too expensive. I remember i was set 21gas , and cost 1.7$ on one transaction but the transaction fast. Default transaction gas is too late , maybe 10-15minute/transaction

Well, you can take a look at ethgasstation for the approx time for x amount of fees used in gas Right now it is kinda costy to get your payment proceed in the network because of huge transactions But after metropolis took place, we will be almost x2 faster now and back to 15 second of block time

Although I'm not quite sure (and please someone corrects me if I'm wrong) but it depends on how fast you want the amount to be delivered

It really depends on how fast the transection you would like it to be. You can choose the GWEI to control the price and speed balance.

AFAIK most of the transaction take up to 200k gas to make each transaction everytime, I have used in so many times that just try to put up to 200k gas fee for my transaction and that was going smoothly and you can try it right now.

it's not a stupid question, until now I'm still confused about ether gas ,, how where do I count from any of our transactions I do not understand ,, this is a good question

Yes, it will cost considerable amount of ETH for gas, when you given more gas you will get your transaction results very fast. In crypto Time factor playing major role, you need to act fast and get your profits otherwise you will end up with bigger lost than gas cost. Even you set 21 gas limit, transaction cost you 1 to 2 usd cost but if you late by 10 min due to low gas it will cost hundreds if usd. For example eBTC airdrop gave 2.5 k coins free, it went neary 0.8 usd per coin from 0.2 usd and again back to 0.3 usd within few hours, if you late by 30 minutes it costs you more than 500 usd. So think about your profits and expenses when settings gas limits.

Gwei by defauot is set at 7. There were time i will set mine to 60 just to get my transaction through in time. I love the fact that you can choose to slow down your transaction and the same time hurry it up!

The Ethereum Gas fee is pretty low. If you have at least 0.001 Eth, you could send the coins with a 60-70k gas fee. It really is not that complicated.

I use 50 Gwei to make airdrop transactions in Etherdelta. This value or higher values enough for the sell in dump. But if you have time you can use lower values to reduce the price.

according to what you are questioning, I will reply that every transaction is definitely in need of funds for shipping and gas, if I think if not wrong you have to use 25000 gas or more than that ..
