Monacoin is huge in japan: %200 gains and rising

Monacoin turns out to be a huge coin in japan with cult-like status. They have their own shops, own social network, and own stemit. There's a big following of japanese people there that don't use your usual reddit, slack etc. With japan becoming the leader of crypto adoption, I wonder how high it can go.

It has a supply of 54,000,000 total coins, the price is still low if it becomes an actually used coin (unlike 99% of the rest of the coins)

Little wonder monacoin has been flying in the last 24hr or so! Never knew this coin could turn out so big! I always see it on exchange and i do wonder why the coin was not delisted for such a long time.

I cycle through them, a lot, when I'm at coinmarket cap, and their name sticks around so I remember them, but I never clicked on them, and went to their website. Now that I saw this post I finally went there, and it could be a nice project. You are right, there seems to be some good adoption there, but maybe it will just stay in Japan as a "fun coin". If it stays there, then it's price wont go very high I guess.
It's still interesting, and I will keep my eye on them, but I'm not sure they will be able to get huge.

Im glad I bought this when it was cheap. I was aware of the growing adoption of this in japan, so when it bottomed I picked up a bunch, now it's up almost 0.5BTC, pretty cool since I didn't invest much, just picked some because it was a very old coin and still active, few of these out there. The community is always doing things and they will not let it stagnate.

It's funny how BCash was being marketed heavily by Ver in japan as the coin to use for daily things and turns out Monacoin is used way more.

Seems interesting. But im usually hesitant when suddenly a bunch of threads pop up about the same coin claiming it to be the next big thing. A pump and dump coming? Or me being paranoid? Even if the project is great the market can still be manipulated.

Yeah agreed we with that... Normally just a hype however i will look into this coin to see if its a good investment.

Another good alternative to this privacy coin is of course DeepOnion, great team, continuous development,great community, and of course the great airdrop! Its worth having a look into as well!

It's saavy to be cautious when a coin gets hyped, but im just pointing out the facts.

As an altcoin, if you want to compete against bitcoin, you need to:

1) Have a technological improvement so big that it becomes a treat model for the BTC status quo (people would find it safer and so on)

2) That you have massive merchant adoption

Monacoin obviously doesnt introduce anything remarkable at a technological level, but name me another altcoin that actually gets used in shops, websites, for tipping etc.

Im not saying go buy it right now, it was a buy when it was flat (as all investments), now it's yet to be seen if the growth can be sustained, but I would keep an eye. Japan is releasing their own crypto currency for 2020's olympic games and Mona may pump heavily again.

Personally with the price being that expensive, there isn't any coins that I am willing to let go to invest in this coin. I'll just leave this one alone.
