Hello,

I have a RIG with 7 GPU GTX1070 8GB, I use to mine with this RIG ETH+DCR in dual mining with Claymore,
a couple of week ago I have try to mine ZEC with EWBF's CUDA miner, all start correctly, one of the card mine
about 40% less than other, and after a random time, could be 1 or 3 hours, all crash.

After the reboot the RIG recognize just 2 ore 3 GPU, I have to remove 5 PCI-e riser restart the RIG, shutdown,
re-connect all other PCI-e riser and than after reboot all works fine.

Anyone can help me to understand where is the problem ?

mining ETH+DCR all works fine and have no crash or reboot for weeks.

Thanks

Fabrizio
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I think that EWBF's CUDA miner doesn't really like 1070, or at least mine cards (Gigabyte). I tried mining ZEC for few weeks but couldn't get more than 410 sols per card. On two of them even less around 380 sols. I have tried all kinds of OC settings and couldn't get near 450 which 1070 should be able to do.

After a lot of tinkering I can't even start miner anymore. It freezes the system immediately. At same time dual mining
ETH+SIA(31MH&420MH per card) without any problems. I just gave up for now until some new miner comes up. Or ETH mining stops being profitable.

I had the same problem trying to mine ZEC. It didn't seem like it was worth my time trying to get it running smoothly, so I went back to ETH.

I'm using GTX 1060
but my problem is i can't mine eth / etH+sia
my computer keeps on restarting but i dont have any problem in mining zec using ewbf

I already tried all oc setting and also no oc but still my computer keeps restarting whenever ethash / decred / dag algo is being used
and also in claymore my hashrate is very low 1.2mhz 0.3mhz like that.

I have burned 3 Asrock / asus mobos in the past 2 months, before burning out they crashed randomly and quite often (several times a week). Moved onto biostar tb250-btc boards, they are solid AF.

Consider PSU or OC set problems. ZEC mining usually needs more power requirements.

That's not really true because on dual mining the RIG use 1000W while on ZEC the consumption is about 900-930W

You have to remember that ZEC and ETH run different algorithms and as such have different resource requirements from your GPUs.

Have you updated your overclock settings?

On ETH, Memory clock is important while Core clock is useless.
On ZEC, Memory clock is useless while Core clock is important.

Power consumption is said to be higher on dual mining ETH.

You're overclocking to much, probably.

I have the same issue when overclocking. ETH Dualmining works like a charm but Zcash crashes randomly. So just tune the OC down and you'll be fine. I find +130 clock and +200 mem works stable for my 1070 OC.
