I currently have an older PSU, Cosiar TX750
http://www.corsair.com/en-us/tx-series-tx850-80-plus-bronze-certified-850-watt-high-performance-power-supply

I initially will have 2 or 3 GPUs to hook up 1070s and adding more later which I know I will then upgrade to.  Does this PSU work for now.  Hava a few fans that need to be plugged in. I’m just not sure how many connections I’ll need for the PSU. I have all my risers already. This is the last piece I need to see if I can use what I have or if I have to upgrade.

Thanks for the help!

It depends on your cards, TX750 should work nice on 5x1060, but if you want to have only one supply on  one rig, you need to buy 1000-1200W power supply to have much PCI-E power cables.

I would buy this

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182352

it is better then the corsair you picked  and cheaper  it will do 4  nvidia 1070's

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=435  review is for the 1000 watter

if you read the review  you will realize  it scores  really  good  in the 3 categories a miner needs.

so the 9.2  over all  is more like a 9.6 or 9.7

it kicks that corsair to the curb  and I own both I know.

if you really want a corsair get this one

1000 watter

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139139

850 watter

1250 is the preferable from my side. It is all depends upon the cards you are using and the rigs numbers should matter for the PSU you choose.
Go with the same family cards when you find any issue in your miners.
Corsair is better brands but supply and PCI slot with the raiser will do more you expect if you choose the right one.

If your plan is to have let's say 6x1070, then buy a 1200w power supply, Corsair is good.

I have the Corsair RM1000i currently running with 5 cards 4 RX 480 and 1 RX 580 which consumption is almost the same as 1070, roughly 150 watt +- depending on the configuration. This will do perfectly for a 5 GTX 1070 rig.

If you want to go with 6 cards buy the Corsair Hx1200i, I insist on Corsair because this PSU is running all my rigs since January and not a single problem during these 10 months non stop work. Corsair is a really nice brand, I know you pay a premium for their name but is worth it in the long run.

What do you guys think about Seasonic PSUs? I'm using the 850W and 1000W titanium+ ones and the efficiency is real.

Thank you for the input in PSU.  Looks like I am good to start with my original Corsair TX850 for now.  I will look into upgrading to a better one when I add my fourth card as long as all goes as planned in about a month.  Probably makes sense to keep the 850 and then just either add on another 850 just have two so I will never have to worry about coming close to power consumption.  Thanks for the input, links, and  suggestions!

Your 850watt from Corsair can handle up to 5 GTX 1060 but only after you have made the power consumption to 70-80% in MSI Afterburner utility. My latest build is with a Corsair 750 watt PSU and it is with 3 GTX 1060 plus GTX 1050 ti, the power consumption is set to 70% for each card and is running smoothly.
