Pro tip: In order to generate BTC, you need to take them out of the boxes.

Simply building a pyramid out of them won't work.

As a point of interest what is the actual difference in hash rate between ATI and NVIDIA cards? Is there a thread somewhere?

This wiki page probably helps: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

Basically, if the poster had been serious, it'd mean he bought cards capable of around 140Mh/s that use 244W of power to do it and cost $500 each while he could buy Radeon HD 6870 cards that can do 300Mh/s with 170W for around $200 each.
