Ok, I saw this article.

I have a list of questions, here they are:

  • 1. It says they are shipping now, and I want to get my hand on one.  If I order on Monday next week, about when will my order arrive?
  • 2. What will the difficulty be?
In a year, what will the difficulty be about?
  • 3. Will it be profitable? And for how long?
I used this calculator and with a difficulty of 20000000.0 and the rate at 100.00/BTC. It seems profitable, (My definition of 'profitable' is about 400.00 a month), how long will it remain like this?

I am in a rush now, so I will add more in an hour.

Not worth it. Difficulty will be several times what it is now by the time you get it.

The mere fact that they still have unfulfilled orders from last year made me cancel my order.

You judge your future...

My answer is No, not safe... Investment wise...

GPU and scrypt... because the manufactures who make the chips are not using your money to make themselves chips to mine your value away. Like the ASIC's are doing.

  • 1. 3-4 months, probably.
  • 2. Mystic Meg says (a) 50,000,000 (b) 80,000,000
  • 3. With the difficulty at 50 million, you'd mine about 0.01 BTC per day per Gh/s

You probably won't receive it until January, and by then, even a 50GH miner will probably mine about as much as a Radeon 7970 does right now.

Multipool - Always mine the most profitable coin - Scrypt, X11 or SHA-256!

Ok, I missed the Bitcoin mining train.  Sad

Is there a way to use the ASIC for LTC, or stick with the GPU?

No, mate you need to do some reading. I mean this politely. You need to be able to differentiate between sha-265 and scrypt. Scrypt requires on board memory. It's far more memory intensive than sha-265, hence GPUs are capable of both. ASICs aren't, well aren't yet, and this recent hardware evolution is not capable of scrypt...

Make my day! Say thanks if you found me helpful Smiley BTC Address --->

No. This ship has sailed.

It's conceivable that BFL will offer further products and better price-to-performance metrics after they've gone through the very long tasks of satisfying existing orders and be able to ship'em in a reasonable time frame...but as it is now, they are really far behind in production, and there are many better investments for your money.

ASICMiner shares. Go to bitfunder.com and invest in G.ASICMINER-PT. It pays a weekly dividend.

Nothing is missed, ASICs are future of mining. Now everyone have invested into one of companies and are waiting for result. You can join them.
Currently existing ASIC models are Avalon's first batch and ASICMiner's private stuff + some of USB miners they have sold. That's all. Everything else is either not yet delivered, or not yet developed. ASICs like Bitfury, ButterflyLabs, KNCminer are promised to be developed soon. Read about them here on forum and invest if feel so. IF they will deliver product in promised time - you will get money back, plus a lot on top. But always keep in mind that they all can be just a scam.

I am curious, how big those dividends are? If I will buy shares, how fast they will return invested money?

If KNCMiner delivers, that would be a second generation product with better bang for the buck. You could look into ordering that at some point.
I would not jump just yet, but it looks promising.

Yes! For 274 days, 13 hours, 11 minutes, 4 seconds
